Wow - Something Great Happened To Me Today !!!!

Hey nice one Jeff on outsmarting the stinking phishers! 👍

That's great news about your hamster, Tsuyoiko! 😍

Seems like you had a good celebration, Heliobacter!

Hey that's good, Mycernius; Fiestas are pretty economical are they not? and the parts cheaper than a lot of cars too. :-)

lol @ Jeff! :giggle: Take out a gym membership as well! 😎 (<-- the nearest thing to an aerobics smilie I can find. XD)

My good news is that I got a new haircut today! 😄 I really like it. I got the right-hand side part shaved. I never want to have long hair again (seriously, it looks sooo much better short on me, when I first had it cut short it was like a miracle transformation XDD), but I was getting bored with the same style, so this seems to be the way to go... :-)

(Oh, and sorry not to have been around much lately, still love you guys 🌹 just... don't always have internet access, around and about, going various places, really really busy... you know the story. :sorry: )

Just came back from my 23-day-trip all across the continent!
It will take way more time to digest my experiences. It was definately one of the best times of my life.

Anyway, I'm back! 🙂

Ok, so it didn't happen today (yesterday) but I made my Japanese oral retake!! Yay 😄 And my listening test as well! Very happy, because I really didn't want to go into the vacation not having made my oral exam!

Now tomorrow Japanese writing/reading test and business test on Thursday and then I'm good. Now that I've made the oral exam, I'm sure I'll make the rest as well :D

Almost vacation!!

The weather's finally taken a turn for the better. After days of miserable heat, humidity and thunderstorms, it's finally nice and comfortable for a change. Ahh! Delightful! For me, that's definitely something great!

😄

I went to a train show on Sunday that was in town for the weekend and had a good time. I think that was the first time I had ever been to a train show, and it was lots of fun. There were elaborate displays up and running of every gauge in the book, from big-*** O-gauge to the tiny Z-gauge and everything in-between. What I really found incredible were three huge displays running of train sets, complete with buildings and scenery made completely out of Lego blocks! That was absolutely amazing! Two other large displays that caught my attention were a Amtrak Acela (I call it the American Shinkansen) exhibit and a cityscape with model trolleys that ran on overhead power lines, just like the real thing. EEEEEEEK! It was all so unbelieveably cool!!! I took lots of pictures and will post some here as soon as I can.

👍

Jeff, I'm guessing this was a model train show and not real trains?

Yep! Model trains! It was mondo cool! Like I said, I hope to have pics up from the show real soon!

:-)

Yesterday I got my raise!! Whoo-whoo!!

Finally, after being told that I was not going to get it from my sketchy boss for 8 months, I spoke to his boss directly and got it right then, in 5 minutes!

Congradulations !! I am happy for you Misa J. chan !!!

Now...have you ever heard of the Children of Mars tax free donations accepted organization? We do accept any amount as long as it ends in two zeros.....hee, hee, hee... MM

Congrats to you, Misa-chan! There's nothing better than getting a raise, acknowledgement that all your hard work was suitably rewarded. Now, don't go and spend it all at one time!

:D

Congratulations Misa!!! I just wonder what you told him haha.

Omedetou!

Thank you guys! 🙏
Mr. Mars, I just sent a check payable to "Children of Mars tax free organization" with a big, big heart on it, but you have to excuse me for not knowing how to write numbers on checks!

Jeff, what if I bought the newest flatscreen TV and delivered it to you by Pink Lady??

Dave, I just kicked him on a butt! No really, I showed him the numbers of progress I had made and said that I would like my raise. That was it, didn't have to say much.

Thank you guys! 🙏

Woo Hoo....a blank check! MarsMan come here and I'll help you fill it out and cash it...let's see...big raise = $$$$ means MM can fill that check in for at least a cool $million!😊

CC1, how about a new golf club made of mahogany with golden handle for you?

Jeez, it is kind of hard to pretend to be rich. You guys will feel sorry for me and will want to send me a check instead if I told you how much raise I got.😊

Well, I already have a Hi-Def TV, but I'd still appreciate the visit by Mie and Kei! Most definitely! HA!

:D

Got some really news the other day. I'm sure folks heard about the theft of a laptop from the home of an employee of the Veterans Admistration a couple of months ago that contained the names and other pertinent info of thousands of servicemen who retired since 1975, including yours truly, raising an unholy stink, what with those retirees worried to death about becoming victims of identity theft. Well, on Tuesday, I got a letter from the VA saying the laptop had been recovered and that the names on them hadn't been exploited, so my finances, such as they are at present are safe, and that's definitely a good thing!

:-)

That is a good news Jeff.
I've heard horror stories of identity theft victims. I'm glad all the info has been untouched.

Jeff....they had been saying that in the news a lot lately, but I still don't buy into it! Of course they will say that, they don't want to pay for free credit reports for the next 20 years and they don't want to be liable for credit damages resulting from the theft.

I too am on that list of people affected. I suggest you monitor your credit closely for the next 3-5 years.

I got my results today and I passed my examresits !!! Yaaaay 1 year school left :cracker:

Congratulations Rock!!

I hope you get to enjoy the last year of your student life very much. Don't forget to party a lot!

Well, I've already been monitoring my credit before the fracas with the stolen laptop. Never hurts to stay on top of stuff like that!

:-)

Thanks Misa :) Well, I'm not really the party-guy, but I'll definitely enjoy my last year and work hard. Maybe I'm going to study abroad after this if I can dig up enough money :)

Hey people!

Long time no see!

For the first time of my life, i've been REALLY busy recently.

I just finished my paramedic training and went into my first actions. Until now I had several strokes, seizures, heart attacks, some gashes and stuff like this. My new job really excites me, and for the first time of my life I've got the feeling that I'm doing something useful. That's pretty much the opposite of the way I felt when I was in school some months ago.

At the moment I'm chilling in our Red Cross office, where we have TV, DVD, a ping pong table, fast internet, a complete kitchen etc. There's only 1 person older than 25 in here - an administrative lady - so we're a damn young group. My collegues are fun and competent, teamwork's easy here.

And by the way, I ordered my Japanese Textbooks some days ago, so I'll start getting on your nerves soon with my language questions.

So yeah, great things happened to me recently, hope you guys and gals had a nice time too! 🙂

Ah, such happiness. :-)

Well, my good news is that I'm an official staff writer for the university newspaper. It's called University News (UNews). I'm so happy because I'm doing something I like. Even though the pay is very low, I'm still happy.:-) :p
