I'm Chinese and had a short term relationship with a Japanese girl working in China. We both lived in US for a long time and communicated in English mostly. I don't speak Japanese. After we broke up due to cultural differences and other issues. She occasionally kept contacting me with sharing little moments of her life through message. So I just asking her if she'd like to continue the relationship, but she dodged by telling me she might leave China and changed the topic. Does Japanese girl like to do this type of things after breakup? Or she's just taking advantage of my feelings for her when she's boring.

Usually it's the guy that tries to keep a relationship going in a situation like this. Clearly you don't have the same intention with regards to the relationship so if you can't accept the relationship that she wants, you should just let it go.

Thank you mdchachi for your reply. I think I did ask her if she is willing to continue the relationship and try it out again with me, and I told her that I still have feeling for her, but she dodged and didn't give me the answer directly. So, I thanked her and took her answer as a "No", as I think Japanese girls like to communicate indirectly and afraid of hurt my feelings. I totally respect that. But after that night, we kept contacting each other till now and she kept messaging me with daily moments she did. So I'm confused with this situation right now.

Women of all nationalities do these kinds of things.

You should ask her this question directly, or you should just forget about her.
Thank you Buntaro, as I just replied to mdchachi, I did ask her if she is willing to continue the relationship and try it out again with me, and I told her that I still have feeling for her, but she dodged the question and didn't give me the answer directly. So I just tool that as a "No" from her. I'm really confused here about how she thinks.

Clearly she doesn't want to let the connection go just yet. But she hasn't indicated that she reciprocates your feelings.
I think she'll drop this relationship as soon as she finds another. In the meantime she thinks it's ok to keep this friendship going at a superficial level.

I zzz,

The sooner you forget her the better. You should block her from any email or social networking you have with her.

Some Japanese women are hard to forget , LOL. Been over 50 years and I still think about my old girlfriend and wonder how her life went. After 3 months , I did give up on having any contact with her though after I left Japan.
