Zonealarm ... problems?

Hi folks,

Just a serious question ... anybody tried upgrading to Zonealarm version 6 ... without a problem?

If you haven't tried it yet .... just visit the Zonealarm forum and see the thousands of complaints!

I am thinking Zonealarm is an antivirus protection? :? is that right?

*ahem* Not sure if this is the right place, but if we're talking antivirus... My Norton antivirus gave a message I had virus, 'unable to repair this file'. I ran Microsoft antivirus protection also, but it said no viruses were detected. So I am a bit puzzled, I think I have a virus now hiding in my comp, but how to get rid of it, if unable to repair by Norton? Can anyone suggest good protections that can zap it?

Zonealarm is primarily a firewall (though there are more products).

re Norton: Look at the message you get, note the virus' name, google for a removal tool. Forget MS AV.

Yeah, Zonealarm is primarily a firewall.

If you have a virus problem that Norton can't get rid of - try downloading a free(!) antivirus program at AVG Free Antivirus Download | Virus Protection Software - very reliable and reputable.

I'm a ZoneAlarm user, too. I know what you mean. ZoneLabs is now distributing an update which no longer causes problems.

I installed the problematic one when it was available, got problems, and went back to the previous one.

A couple of days ago, I have downloaded the latest update, and it works just fine... It's Version 6.0.667.000
