The section called "ADDITIONAL INFORMATION". I was wondering about people's reasons for not filling it out. I love to know things about our members, at least if they are male or female and where they are from. Is it just too much hassel to take the time to fill it in? Or are you playing it smart about internet security? Maybe you feel it is no ones business? I just wondered about people's reasons for leaving it blank, how bout you?

Guilty But, I've filled out some empty boxes, so, let's hope that I followed the instructions right

I have filled it out loooong ago! Nice to read about people...

Maybe people think it's not of our business to know such things....not because they are lazy

*thinks* I don't know if mine's filled out or not. I'll check it once I get to work, not like there's anything else for me to do there.

I Think It Helps....

to at least know if the person is male/female/mixed/unknown or what country they are from and possibly their age. Knowing something about the person helps you understand their posts better. It kinda gives you and idea where they are coming from. Knowing a little about the person helps me relate to them better in chat. I hope some people will take the time to fill in a little information once they become more comfatable on the Forum.

I didn't fill it out for quite a long time. When I first arrived on the scene here, I was just after information about Japan. To be honest, I initially wasn't at all interested in being a part of the jref community or getting to know other members, so filling out personal information seemed pointless. In time I moved away from just wanting info and moved towards the jref community thing and chit chatting with folks, at which point, personal information seemed more relevant, so I added it.

I filled mine out not too long after joining, but it's not very informative. Frank's right. Knowing if someone's male or female would really help. -cough-Winter-cough- Huh, wha?

Boing!! It Bounces Back Again !!

Thought since we have so many new members lately, I'd bring this up again. It really is SUPER nice when new members take the time to put in some personal information about themselves when they join! The minute I see a new member, I click on their profile; like to know things like male/female, age, where they live, etc. . I can see if a new person who knows nothing about JREF wants to remain a mystery, but if you like the Forum and want to be MORE a part of our family, please tell us a little about yourself so we can get to know you. THANKS ever so much !!

I'll confess, I just want to know if they're a female with long black hair!

When I started out using the 'net, I got the habit of withholding information because of security reasons, so I guess that's just a tendency that's persisted. Lazy, too.

Anyway, thanks for the reminder.

Any information not in my profile is not there because I consider it to be nobody's damned business.

Ah,,I'm new here,,,

i think you hit the nail on the head there,

I didn't fill it out partly because I forgot about it and because I was lazy. I filled some of it out, but I didn't want to fill all of it out.
