Killing themselves for him would be something like for his sake. Which it certainly was not. Killing themselves over him is a different thing.

No, it's probably just because they were just so obsessed and they probably were the ones that felt like they REALLY knew him or whatever. Very stupid I think.
Very sad he died and everything, but one shouldn't kill themselves just for that reason alone (yes! You need MORE reasons! xD)

X is a sad subject for alot of people. I mean (for alot of the people in here) how would you feel if a band like L'Arc or Diru broke up and then one of the mambers died? what would you do if Gackt died? It hurts alot of serious fans to talk about things like that...
I am especially sad to know that had Hide not died a new X would be present today or so the plan was in the making. they (Yoshiki and Hide) wanted to bring X back with a different vocalist around the year 2000. Sad, nee? that we could be listen to a new X album right now had it not happened....(btw I am mot a HUGE X fan, but i do love their music...)

True to that. lol I was well, not really into J rock at quite the time Hide died so I can't say I mourned his death...I cna say I cried later on when I found out that there could have been another X but was understanding why Yoshiki didnt want to go through with it after all that...

once i found out hide-sama passed on i kinda cried, but for kami, after i learned of his death..... wow did i wep.i mean he was this lovely man with so much skill ands talent

I remember the atmosphere from a j-rock con called "hidecon" where ther was of course X-Japan The Last Live shown. (My sig comes from that time). Well, I DID cry... Unusually enough. 
I do believe that people after that concert could go suicide, so why not after their idol died? 
Of course, I don't say it's good, I think I can understand them a little.

I actually knew about their disbandment but I didn't know about Kami. But I didn't really listen to them until the Khala action so maybe thats why...O.O

I didn't cry over his death but I was upset. I really liked Hide.....I would cry like a maniac if Kyo died though....or Shinya or Die or Kao or Totchi...And I dont kno what I would do if they ever disbanded It would be like my reaction to Baroque's recient disbandment....only way worse....

If those fans whom killed themselves were any strong fans they would have lived to carry on hide's music and memory , but they chose the easy way to end it.
I don't think it makes you any better fan if you hurt yourself for your J-rocker baby. I think it would only make him , and you , look stupid.
Plus it would make much more sense to kill yourself over a live concert , like seeing gackt doing all that live yaoi-ish stuff , that would be reasonable to me

And I do mean it with the last "bit" . I mean, watching Gackt go through yaoi-full shows from the beginning till the end will be a true self-torture: high adrenaline , rapid heartbeat , temperature raisness , bleeding nose, teary eyes , screaming..etc. It could be a good idea to end up your life before you expose your body to all that damage ..
