I don't feel sorry for him because he made his own decisions (STUPID decisions) in life. I dislike the way X ended, and honestly I place the blame on him. I love love LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVE the man's voice, and everything about the ending of X just, well, just sucks.

i would never want to work with yochan...too much of a power freak ^^
and anyway, look at the x japan songs and most of them were never touched by anyone other than yochan.....maybe toshi just got sick of it? *the only song i saw toshi's name one is scars as co-writer with hide. or was it drain...?*

I was voiceless screaming also. He made that song with Tajiji i think Btw i would never work with Yoshiki either I can't stand this kind of people. I mean he looks great, he speaks english good, he composes amazing songs... but his behaviour and his obsession with being perfect!! :box: But it would be nice to drink coffee with him and just talk.

Ah come on Do you really want to work with someone who will tell you to sing one verse of the song hundred times? That's what he has done to Toshi... I read somewhere that he had to sing that one verse for one hour, till Yoshiki was finally satisfied.

i. Was it a pleasure for Toshi too to express another personality?

y. I don't know if he enjoyed it or not. At first I forced him to. But I think he also enjoyed it a little. I think my recording work was very hard for him. I made him sing every day and I used his throat as an instrument. I told him to sing even though his voice became hoarse. I had my image of my song which was drawn with Toshi's voice. My recordings work was to bring the real song close to the image that I had when I had finished writing it. Every song, my drums too, never reached the image but I wanted to bring the vocals as close to ti as possible. I tried hard to tell him the vision in my head but he could not unterstand easil

y. I can't explain by singing so I said many things.

i. For example?

y. For example I wrote down the word "love" on a page of my notebook, very small, and then I wrote a bit "love" on the next pagen and I said to him, "The size of love that I want is not hte small love's size but the big one. And it isn't written in a beautiful style, but it was written roughly." Toshi said, "I don't understand what you mean." So I changed the way of my explanation as I thought it was not good, I said "Ok, now you are on the beach. But Toshi, you are alone. It's just after sunset but you can see some people walking far away. Now watching the peoples siluette will you express your love by shouting?" I also spoke like a play writer during teh recording. And Toshi got confused. Then I suddenly abandoned him, saying "It's enough. You can sing as you like."

i. You wanted Toshi's voice to make your so ngs perfect.

y. Yes. I was fanatic, trying to inspire him and deceive him to record the perfect voice of Toshi that I wanted. But think it over he was a vitim of mine. I happened to notice that his opinion was lost. I asked him "What do you think of htis?" but he only answered "It's ok with me if Yoshiki think it's ok." But I always said to him "I'm sorry for having obliged you to bear such a hard recording work. But I love your voice and I'm writing my songs for your voice. I think I know you more than you do.

i. What did Toshi say to you then?

y. Sometimes he said, "I understand." Sometimes he said "What do you want from me is beyond my ability." It was a crazy recording. But I took 7 or 8, sometimes 10 tracks. Then it is my turn to struggle. I struggle twice at much as Toshi did. I put tracks in my computer to edit them.

After i read that a few times over, i think Toshi was just sick of Yoshiki, telling him how to sing. He wanted to sing in his own way. He wanted to be just a man he is, not a man Yo-chan made or wanted him to be. I would probably also get sick of pretending to be something i am not. However.... I'm listening some of his songs from his solo carreer right now and i can tell that his voice changed. But it is still amazing, the way he sings, the songs he sings, everything.

I think that he left the band for the reason he said, 'religious reasons' and he didn't want to sing X's songs anymore. I also think that decision was egged on by a certain religious leader who I feel took advantage of Toshi's situation. I'm sorry I just don't like Toshi and what I know about what has become of him. I shouldn't say I don't like Toshi, I don't know Toshi so I can't make that judgement, I just don't like what I do know about what happened. I agree though, that his voice is amazing and I respect him immensely as a musician.

Also, yes I'm serious about wanting to work with Yoshiki (not so much the dominating thing, hehe, unless he wants to. J/K), it would be an absolute honor. I know that he'd be difficult to work with, but he knows a heck of a lot more about music than I do as well as the fact that the music that he creates is stunning and the final product would be worth all of the hardship that went into producing it, but that's just me.

Could be also religious reason as you said, since i think Toshi is easly dominated by someone. That stupid Masaya or whateveer his name is. I read his life was happier and he couldn't sing all those sad and depressing songs anymore.

haha I remember speaking to you, anchyyy on msn for the first time and you telling me you live in 'solvenia'. I was like, WHERE?? it's a very small country, however full of history!

edit: I think many people Would in fact just go out of their way to hurt Toshi. After all, many people did blame him on the end of X. And perhaps many other things...would not have happened if he had left. However we do need to take into account of what Toshi did bring for Japan and the world, with his one of a kind vocals. During the last live performance of 'Kurenai' at the beginning when hide and Toshi have a duet together, there is a person who shouts out ''TOSHI!!!!'', whoever it is doesn't sound happy, or else just very over-eccentric.
