Hey guys. I'm a Yokohama JET (among the last of my kind) and am about to finish up my second year of the program.
I just launched the beta version of a bilingual (English-Japanese) social networking site called Letslink.jp with some college classmates (from Duke and Waseda). It's pretty similar to Friendster, Tribe, etc. but it is bilingual and really aimed at people living in Japan or those that have some interest in the country.
I would really love it if you guys could help out and give me some feedback. It's still in the beta stage but we're constantly making updates and expect a lot to change within the next couple of weeks. The URL is letslink.jp.
This could be a cool way for people interested in Japan to exchange info, ideas, pics, etc. The biggest advantage however lies in expanding your personal network by getting to know friends of friends, etc. Please let me know if you are interested or if you have any questions!
