Wow - Something Great Happened To Me Today !!!!

I did it! I finally graduated from culinary arts school! My family and friends were there. Everything went great! For my final test I had to prepare a lunch for 13 people. I came close to breaking down when the chefs spoken to the guests about me.

Congrats, I wish I could cook a little bit better... aa well practice.
Next stop, the conquest of the culinary world. Then the rest of the world!
Goodluck Jamie, uuuh I mean Justin
HA HA HA HA!

Laugh with me! HA Ha Mawha Ha!

Good for you justin !!

When you are rich and famous, we can say we knew you from your early days.

Nice job there, Justin !! Congradulations !! I did a little in that field too--Gard Manger (or however it's spelled) !! Keep up the good work !! Any may your chef's hat rise quickly !! MM

Thank you everyone! When I make it big Jref members get free food!

Well, this happened yesterday, but it was still great. Went on a day trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore for the very first time and it was absolutely fantastic.

What a fascinating place that is with so much in the way of fish, reptiles and amphibians. Took lots of pictures too, though they were rather amatuerish since I'm not all that great a shutterbug. Oh, yeah, the Inner Harbor was also fantastic. And now for something really incredible:

Ladies and gentlmen, may I introduce you to the jawbone of carcharodon megalodon, the prehistoric ancestor of the great white shark. In it's heyday, this bad boy checked in at around 60 feet long and weighing a good 50 tons with teeth as large as a man's fist. Pretty impressive, eh?

By the by, I rode Amtrak's Acela, America's answer to Japan's bullet train back home and that was cool too. The ride was smooth as baby's bottom, quiet as a church mouse, and fast! I was back in Philly in just under an hour. That was fun! All in all, it was a great day!

👍

Thanks for that nice share !! Boy...that was a big one !! (and yet, it died out)

Back in my eastcoast days, there was no such nice ride with any Amtrack cars. Things have changed.

Great news, Justin! Congratulations! 👍 I wish I could cook well... although I can when I concentrate. :) (and nice lemon dessert! 👍 )

I'm glad you had a great day out, Jeff! 👍 Sounds awesome! It's many years since I have been to an aquarium, and yet they are fun. Maybe it's time I took a visit again; it is good to find time to do such things! :)

I just came back off a 2 days holiday at the seaside with my boy; it was great. :-) En route, we stopped off at my mum's place and broke the news to her, and she was happy and pleased for us, which was great :) and the holiday was nice... sunny weather that we each got a bit of a sun-tan, and walked on the beach both sand and stones, and on the cliffs and in the woods. We saw a Battle of Britain flight on Sunday! 👍 and on Monday we saw an adder! (a real clear view of it too, as it lay in our path.) Ah yes, good times. :-)

Here's something I'm sure you'll find to be pretty damn cool:

ARCHIE COMICS CONTINUES TO INTRODUCE NEW TALENT: MEET ARCHIE COLLECTOR/HISTORIAN-TURNED-WRITER JEFFREY C. BRANCH!

Archie Comics is at it again! In 2003, after winning a cherished slot in Tokyopop's ツ"Rising Stars of Mangaツ" anthology, Archie hired writer-artist phenomenon Tania del Rio to give Sabrina the Teenage Witch a manga makeoverツ…

In 2006, Archie held a ツ"try-out contestツ" at the San Diego Comic-con, and a young man named Bill Galvan ツ− wearing a homemade Jughead t-shirt and wielding a pencil full of talent ツ− soon found himself becoming Archie's newest artist-extraordinaireツ…

This year, Archie gives another deserving talent a big break. The recipient this time is longtime Archie Comics collector and historian, Jeffrey C. Branch. Jeff has been championing Archie Comics in print for years ツ− with text articles in such diverse outlets as grass roots fanzines, established magazines like Comic Book Marketplace, and even the official Archie Comics website. He made his most recent splash with an introduction to ARCHIE DIGEST #236, a very special issue that reprinted the original ARCHIE COMICS #1 from 1941 in its entirety.

With his reverence for and encyclopedic knowledge of Archie Comics, who better to write new Archie tales to vie for their own place alongside the classics? Judge it for yourself when you read ツ"From the Ground Up,ツ" in ARCHIE & FRIENDS #115. Inspired by TV's home makeover shows, Archie and his friends endeavor to restore historic Pickens General Store and turn it into a museum. But can they overcome their lack of construction experience, not to mention opportunistic politicians who want to exploit the situation for their own gain and fame? It's a poignant addition to the fabled canon of Riverdale lore, rendered with panache by Archie fan-favorite Rex Lindsey.

That's right, boys and girls. I'm about to become a published author! While it's not the great American novel, I'm working in a forum I've loved ever since I was a kid: comic books! And as a huge fan of Archie comics, this is a dream come true for me! Look for this book to hit the stands (in the U.S.) in late December/early January!

Okay, you can applaud now!

:D

WOW!! Congrats Jeff !

As a long time comic fan(started reading them in 1955) and also a collector(3000 in my cellar), you have really accomplished something SO KOOOOL!

Uncle Frank

GREAT !!! Congradulations man !! That sounds great...although I will probably not be able to buy one... I'll have to wait till they make it over here.

Yes, I recall the Archie series, although I know I didn't read all of them. I think I even had one of those crown hats, for a short while, back in early elementary school.

Thanks for the kind words, folks! :-)

To Mars Man and Kirie_Maiden: I think you can order Archie comics online, but I don't know how that works. I guess you'd have to visit their website and get infomation. Man! December can't come fast enough for me!

:-)

Congratulations, Jeff! There are many people who dream of being published and only a few succeed! 👍

Today I heard what I now regard as almost the best news of this year, so far. My step-daughter now does not have to testify against her natural father in court due to the fact he gave her a mobile phone for Christmas that looks as if it could have been stolen. She was terrified at the thought of having to confront him in court and it was getting to her in a major way.

Her mother and me have been very worried for her as she has started to self harm herself again and had craved certain band members names on her skin. We feared that if she was forced to testify against her father that she could even try and end her life, which would have had a severe effect on our lives.

But when I came home from work today, I was greeted by a completely different daughter, who had been absent for the last couple of months due to how she felt. She is now full of life, apart from limping slightly due to a bad knee joint.

The relief that me and her mother feel is huge. :)

Wow Hiro-san, I didn't know your step-daughter was going through such a hard time (duh, ofcourse not!), but when I read the circumstances... well...just WOW, I've never had that kind of trouble, nor know anyone who does. I'm very glad to hear that everything is going better with her now, it must've been awful for you as well. I wish all of you the very best and I hope that your daughter will remain in her present state of happiness ;p Keep up the positive thinking ;p

I'm very, very glad to hear that !! I too feel relieved to know that she has been able to let herself put down that mental baggage, and return to herself. Great news indeed !!

my hero...

i have meet a boy who is just 👍, he defended me in the subway, he just kick them:-), guess my hero today...😌

Hehe. Hero's are always fun to meet.

I pleased for you to, EH. I'm glad your daughter is ok. Best wishes for the future.

Nothing good has happened to me so far today but, it's 10AM. There's time.

Juno, Mars Man and Kirie, Thank You for what you have said. At this moment in time the best thing that I am enjoying is hearing her laughing out loud and enjoying her day to day life. This is a huge change from hearing her argue with her mother and reducing her to physical tears due to the way she was hurting inside her mind.
And Yes she will grow stronger as she has two parents who love her and who will support her. :)

I am so very, thrillingly happy for the three of you and all others whom it will affect !! I wish the very best for you all !! Now please start taking extra care to keep her satisfied and as well-hormonally balanced as possible. I'll be here to help !!! MM

WaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaWhooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uncle Frank can be a real uncle! Congrats to both of you. Now we have to wait monthes & monthes to see the baby's pics, LOL.

👍 👍 👍
