I had read a book about Islam. But i had many reactions about the book which is contrary to reality. For example, it says that Islam/Quranic teachings respect freedom of religion and yet Islamic countries control this freedom and must adhere solely to this religion and the apostates are endagered from islamic state punishment. What is your opinion about this matter.

Muslims are not define of who they are but what they are as human beings. And I am a following Buddhist path of humanism.

first;thanks for the reply second ; iam talking about dealing with the muslims people belive me if you want to know someone or somethig you should try to deal with him or it i like to know about people stories and i dont care if they are muslims or not becouse islam learnt me to respect the other religions and i am sad becouse there are muslims who show to people abad manars and make people think in abad way about islam but i love my life and my religion and iwant you to know the real muslims and thanks again

who are real muslims? I mean which one are u referring? Is it the sunni or shiite muslim groups? or do u consider the minority followers of sufists a real muslims? or are u talking your own groupl?

or do u mean a real muslim follows muhammad's teachings and his life examples? By the way, i dont agree muhammad's teachings and how he practised his faith. He practised polygamy( an islamic reasoning) as a solution to marriage problems in which i dont agree and i find it very hard to believe that he(at 50's) married to a 7 yr old girl for which is despicable behavior of religious leader to follow? i doubt about it. I could not find any teacher or sage or religious leader who taught and practised such behaviours except the Arab leader and self-proclaimed prophet Muhammad. Perhaps, to me Muhammad is a warrior-leader or statesman like Alexander the great but not a comparison to great sages or religious leader living a saintful or enlightened life freeing from worldly desires and sufferings like Gautama Buddha, a great sage from India, Socrates in Greece and many others.

That is my insights after reading that book.

Actually, Western attitudes towards Islam are split around 50/50, with about half of people viewing Islam favourably and about half unfavourably.

well im living in the state which full of muslim and i have to say some muslim are really rude but there are a lot of them who are really kind and friendly and funny . depends on people rite ?? My father seems to hate muslim very much , but i met a lot of kind muslim in my school =D

I'm not sure this info is correct can I get the totle of the book please

as for islam it has th rule of (No force in religion)
and the real muslims would follow it
I mean I've met a Buddhist friend and she had more open mind then any one else in my mind
and she's one of my best friends even thoug she'se older than me and I respect her so much
and learning from her

but unfotunatly some have the idea of muslims don't like others
and that's not true

The Muslim community in my area keeps to itself, which I find disheartening. If they want to fit in, shouldn't they try to meld with the community they've adopted as their own? I think that order makes perfect sense.

I have no problems with Muslims. Well, I might have a problem with Hezam. But I don't consider him a Muslim, but a Hezam, y'know what I mean?
