Why are some people in invisible mode when they are online at Jref?

Well, if they are like me.......
on hot days, I run around the house and use the computer while in the nude to stay cool. Rather than gross all our JREF members out, I use the "invisible mode" to hide my nudeness.

it is to avoid being PM'ed by other pest members. In the past, we have had some of our "honest to goodness" Japanese members get several requests to translate something the minute they are logged on. Some people seem to feel our Japanese members are available 24/7 and for free; available for private lessons and translation requests.

I tend to log in to various sites for hours or even a full day at a time, and leave them running while I go about other business. So although I'm logged in I'm not actually 'on' Jref at all for most of that time, so 'invisible' actually reflects my status more accurately!
