I mean that when you go to a store, there are many things made in Japan when you're shopping in Japan, but in America (where I currently reside) almost everything seems to be made somewhere else.
Go to a random store in Japan and just keep looking until you find something, anything, made in Japan. Then go to a similar store in America and keep looking until you find something made in the U.S.A. I would be willing to wager that you'll find a Japanese product in Japan before you find an American product in America. In fact, I'm quite certain.
But what is different that allows for this? In my opinion, Japan must be doing something right to have so many consumer products produced and available locally.
