Who likes Cricket?

Everything I know about cricket I learned from watching Lagaan. It's bearable, when the fate of your village is at stake and it's accompanied by Indian musical numbers...

Saints preserve us, we managed to beat the West Indies, the team for the third test has been announced, its unchanged from the second test.

Heres to England winning at Cricket again, our footballers can only manage a draw!

For those who want to know, at the end of the first days play in the third test, england won the toss of the coin and decided to bat, at the end of play the score was 296 for 7 wickets.
Not too bad a start eh mos. 👍

Quite right you are EH, not too bad at all!

I'm delighted to read about some progress in our approach to cricket since Fletcher's departure.

I would also be very glad to see some physical change in approach, but alas I don't have Sky (subsciption only, or pay-TV, for our non-British readers) so I must make do with following through the net...nevertheless...

come on England! :0

I dont have Sky anymore either mos san, not since Sky vanished off ntl over money.
But I do find my home page of Virgin Media keeps me up to date with the latest scores and commentary to boot :-)

You can always listen to it on the player on the BBC site. Currently West Indies 216-4 Sidebottom bowling on the 46th over, sorry 216-5. Bravo just caught out for 24 c Prior b Sidebottom. As you can guess I'm listening to it at the moment👍

mos from what Ive found out it refers to when a batsman hits the ball into an open space near the wicket, where there are no fielders, so he can get a quick single run.
Hope that helps :-)

And for those who want to know how England are doing against India, England scored 298 before being bowled out in their first innings. India replied with 201 and were bowled out. Despite all the rain England are now on their second innings with a score of 189 with 5 wickets lost. That gives England a lead of 286 runs! :)

England all out for 282 runs. India are now 137 for 3 wickets in reply.

With just one day left England need to get 7 wickets or India need to get 243 runs in order to win the match.
