hi guys and gals,
im interested in studying general japanese in japan for future employment opportunities. but also for my love of the language. im surprised how poor some of the websites were for language schools in japan. its seems really hard to make a choice. i want to get a student visa so i guess it needs to be accredited for that with the gov, and length of study is about 4-6 months with 20+ hours per week... any info about these schools would be HUGELY appreciated. thanks folks.

Yamosa
Shinjuku Japanese Language Centre
genkijacs (looks cool but doesnt offer visa.. baaah!) they have cool utube clips!!
World Link Education
ANY OTHERS YOU CAN RECOMMEND!?!?!?

As you may or may not realise from looking at that short list, place isnt critical although id rather be in tokyo then say osazaki (yamosa location) which seems a tad boring... i wanna have a life outside of study too.

thanks for your help.

hi i also found

hiroo japanese centre... website seems like a big faq and re study was very ambiguous
kichioji language centre, seems excellent... and well priced

thanks again

Hi, you replied in my other topic. I'd like to try and help you out.

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with those schools but I have some sites that might provide information for you:

http://www.studyjapan.go.jp/en/index.html - Comprehensive guide for those who want or are studying in Japan.

一般財団法人 日本語教育振興協会 - Click on the "English Top" link near the upper left corner of the page, you can find a list of accredited schools, its search engine is really good.

独立行政法人日本学生支援機構 - They have schools in Tokyo and Osaka, unfortunately, they need a contact person or a guarantor who lives in Japan.

If you already live in Japan, I don't think you'll have any problems.

Here's a short list:

http://www.jli.co.jp/english/frame.html

http://www.naganuma-school.or.jp/school_2/en/home/index.html

http://www.jpschool.com/

Good luck. I believe these schools have info for visa procedures and such.
