Who is it?

"dare desu ka?" is more appropriate.

"dare wa?" isn't exactly a question, nor does it exactly make sense, and means something like "as for who?".
 
Yeah, lifted straight from 'Sakura Card Captor' like if you want to say. Who is calling out to me ? "Dareツ、 watashi wo yobu no wa ?" :)
 
誰? =dare?
誰ですか? = dare desuka?
何方? = donata?
何方ですか? = donata desuka?
何方様ですか? = donata sama desuka?
どちらさまでいらっしゃいますか? = dochirasama de irrasyaimasuka? 👍

尊敬語を書いてみました。 😅
TPO(Time place occasion) 時、場所、場合によって使い分けてください。:)
 
I'm not sure of the OP's Japanese level, so I'll translate these.

And just so you know, the sentences get more polite as you go down the list.
