Planning on travelling between Tokyo and Osaka soon (sometime between march and may) and will be there for a month or so. But I heard that between May and July is very rainy in Japan.

So which month/s should I avoid that area, because I will be camping, and don't want to get wet! :p

I've been to Japan in Spring, Summer and Autumn and each time I've been rained on.

Ok but what I'm really asking is which month is the worst for that region (Tokyo-Osaka).

May was rainy but not as much as June from my experience. However, the worst rain was during the typhoon. OMG it was like walls of rain. I do think it rains a lot in Japan. Bring an umbrella, and plenty of rain gear.☔ Really though, go whenever you can and have a lot of fun!

Hi,

the rainy season (almost continuous rain for a month) approximately lasts from June 15th to July 15th. Also, it can rain a lot during the typhoon season (september). When a typhoon comes, it rains a lot for one or two days, but weather can actually be quite nice before or after the typhoon.

Your best chance for good weather in Japan is probably October to May. August is the best in summer.

Actually, the rainy season is more like the drizzly season. It's mostly light scattered showers or constant drizzle throughout the day. Heavy downpours are rare except, of course, when typhoons approach as mentioned above. So don't worry too much about it.
