i couldn't figure out what particle that is.. maybe my ime doesn't support it.. it's the o particle right? there are a few of them but i couldn't access it. maybe next time i'll just use romanji. nice to see you're a comic book psychic now.

It sounds like 'o' but it's typed like 'wo'.

i sorta started 15-16, but didnt get into it untill 17, when I started getting tutoring... i've had about 70 hours of study...should be able to sit JLPT lvl.4 with 10-20 more hours of study...

its actually a bit of an obsession (I was learning Japanese while A-levels examinations where on, and scribling kanji on my papers when I had spare time in my boring math exams (the markers must have found it wierd) ), so I plan to be fluent in 2 years time...

I've been off and on again studying Japanese, wow, for about 14 years but I still consider myself to be a total noob. I've put it on the back burner for so many different things - marriage, family, job studying etc. but I've recently finally swung back into studying it again, seriously.

I started at about 20 (2 years ago). not full time study because i work, but most of my non-work time is devoted to japanese study.

as for my level, i'm not really sure but probally somewhere around or a bit below 3kyuu... still crap i know.

Started about 13 when I started high school, did like a thousand hours of 'study' D) over 5 years and then a year in japan which was another huge chunk of study and learning. Currently doing Japanese 3 at uni and not attending lectures (working, meh, money > education) and passing with a 90% average, which isnt bad for going only for assesment. Japanese girlfriend keeps my listening and speaking polished and I got my JLPT grade 2 last year, its a nice personal performance test, motivator to work and improve and all that but practically not much use

mhm, i started going to a bilingual school in Argentina. I had 6 weekly hours of japanese, but because of my lazyness i end up learning almost nothing =/

I started at the innocent age of 13 by self teaching myself though the internet, Video games, Manga in Japanese and writing things down alot. I tried to go to a Japanese class in High school but they couldn't teach me anything that I didn't know already so after my freshman year(And after I got easy credit.) I quit the class and decided when I go to college I would try out the courses there. I've gotten pretty decent at reading Japanese but theres much I still need to learn. Speaking the language will probably be the hardest for me because I have a speech problem.

I started my freshman year of university. I wound up getting a major in Japanese and a minor in Asian studies. That was over 10 years ago. I quit actively studying after I passed the 2-kyu test and was working in a place where I spoke Japanese about half the time. The practice was obviously better than burying my nose in a book. That was my first IT job. Boy do I miss those days.

I started my Freshman year in College, not really studying but just dicking around with the basics. Then my Junior year I went to Kansai Gaidai and actually took classes. Then I came back to the states and forgot most of it while I was busy trying to graduate on time. Now, I'm back in Japan with the JET programme. That, and I was planning on taking the JLPT level 2 this year, but I missed it. So, I plan to keep on studying until I leave.

I started on July 10th 2003. I only remember the date as I know it was the day after my birthday. As for how far I've gotten with it, I did really well for the first six months, but since then my progress has slowed down due to other commitments. But it's still going well, I think.

I started around 1996 when i have some free time, I took a cheaper course compared to Gakushudo is at ISC is Blok M area in Jakarta. I had to ride about 30 minutes on the bike to get there after which I went to CCF for my French class every Saturday. I has the basic course for about 6 months and changed to Spanish course.

When I was involved with JICA project, I had the exposure to Japanese working environment because half of the team member was from Japan and the top manager are Japanese. I was also give Japanese class by Fujitsu System Indonesia twice a week by native Japanese which helps a lot. However during my five years stay in Taipei, I really tried best to shut out myself from Japanese and concentrate on learning Chinese. I speak Chinese fluently now and its time to repolish my broken Japanese until you I can call myself fluent.

I have probably been studying on an doff for past year in a half but i only had a class for 2 hours on most saturdays, avg time would probably equal 2-3 months.
