We agree.

1) I can fix my car, but I prefer my mechanic do it. I don't give my doctor my best diagnostic guess, and I don't do my own labwork.

2) When someone says they have been to Ireland and it's beautiful, I don't second guess them.

3) Any second rate zoologist is likely to more know about zoology, taxonomy and evolution than I do and I figure it is best to take people at their word until they demonstrate otherwise.

1) Agreed again on some points. If the mechanic is deemed as "my" mechanic, then obviously that sense of familiarity which caused me to take him on as mine was done so out of some former dealing with him, or even a high recomendation from someone I know and trust.

2) But you may second guess someone if they say something counter to what you know to be most probable.

3) If in fact they are a zoologist. If in fact they are not of ill repute. If in fact they are 2nd rate -- who is to say they aren`t 3rd or 4th rate. Would you accept the opinion of a first rate translator of Biblical languages when they say it could not be the word of God even though you are not a biblical translator?

Again, my point here is that, on a forum such as this, the argument should carry itself and the laurals of a person should not have to be mentioned if in fact the reason and data are sound which is being offered.

Or like linguistics, translation and the difference between exegesis and hermaneutics...or the difference between a pond and a pawn.

its not good, whalehunting, but there is so manny that man do and that is bad for mother earth, so really i cant be bothered about japan, norway and i believe iceland are whalefishing, if its up to me i would go to koizumi and say to him stop, but we aint living ina fantasy world where everything is ok.

lol. Oh, now I see why you kept mentioning those little cryptic "pond/water" messages. Obviously I had mistaken one word for the other in my analogy of chess. lol. Funny you should cling to that.

Yes, I am not perfect. Neither is the BWOG. It is clearly on my level, brother Sabro.

Heres a better idea, how about we stop humanity s******g out thousands of babies, we dont need a larger population, we need a stable one.

Also, purely vegetarian diets arent really ideal for the body, were omnivores, live with it, or try and evolve into a sheep or something.

Also, Tofu is downright disgusting, if you want to live off of poor plant substitutes and die an early death and live a meak ill-prone life, thats your decision.

I agree humanity shouldnt pig out on meat but its no secret its been an essential vital part of our diet since we first evolved, why do vegetarians feel they are somehow more qualified then thousands upon thousands of years of evolution to tell people how they should eat?.

I just find the philosophy behind vegetarianism flawed....thats not to say i dont want you to live on plant products if thats your choice, just dont try and force it on me, i actually have thought about it a pretty damn lot, and yeah, i came to my own conclusion that i prefer to eat meat, and if i have to deny myself what my diet demands to save a few cows from dying, then how do you propose we try and stop the natural flow of things, and stop all other life consuming other organism?, it would basically destroy life on earth, its no secret that the natural world isnt malicious and intentionally harsh, but it isnt goody goody either, plants produce energy, small animals eat the plants, slightly larger animals eat those ones, its the food chain, its been around WWWAAAAAYYYYYY longer then the touchy-feely love the trees sentimentality, so i see no reason to go against the most integral lynchpin of the ecosystem now.

Anyway, if we stopped eating meat now, we would only have to cull billions upon billions of each domesticated species...if not whipe them out completely, after all, who knows what effect releasing them into the wild would have?.

No, i think we need to control our own population to a sastainable level, not give up meat so we can feed a few thousand more mouths before we cross the point of no return and nature culls us in her own ways.

I'm not a vegetarian. I won't disagree with you. We need to find a sustainable population. The point was simple: the number is higher if we eat less meat. I doesn't solve the problem-- it just increases the planet's comfortable carrying capacity. Eventually economics and not some vegan-state will force us to cut down on the amount of meat we will eat. It will become more expensive as the land and resources dictate. Cows are not endangered. Neither are chickens. Bon Apetit.

Wow, that's quite a biased poll...

...anyway, I voted "other"--that other being: If I would die becuase of it.

I won't, so I don't care.

And for all you mail-bombing PETA members out there, you threatening to kill me would be pointless--I said if I would die because of whaling, not your prejudices.

It's ironic really: I never was a fan of whaling, but all the unsubtantiated claims, emotional manipulation attempts, and other various con-artistry used on this forum to try and convince me that whaling is bad has instead made me want to try whale meat.

Too bad I can't get it here in the states, I'll have to remember to buy some when I go to Japan.

lol. Why would we threaten to kill you? You, too, are an animal, and we have a policy that even those not as intelligent as humans should not be targeted for killing. You are safe. Stop worrying.

Some might rephrase that as "even those not as UNintelligent as humans". :p:p

Shame many animal activists dont agree.

Whale Watching not killing

we should enjoy the whales in ocean and watching them is such a great experience. There are many tours and services around the world which are crowded by the tourists who want to go for whale watching. If there is no whales in oceans, what do tourists see?
