Hope someone could explain a difficult part for my level in a story which i'm reading.
context: the protagonist just surrender after a match in an arena had just begun, and the host announced the victor of this match to be his opponent. Here is his thought (i think)
闘いがここからという所で終わったことに、当然ながら観客からは不満の声が上がる。

だが、奴らが何かをしてくれる訳じゃない。

怪我の治療は主催が行ってくれるが、資本となる身体のケアは基本的に全て自己責任。(my guess but not sure: "The organizers would cover the medical expenses for injuries, but the fighters were basically responsible for their own physical well-being." ?)

I think that's a pretty good translation for it. The fighters' bodies and care thereof are their capital (investment) for the career they've chosen.

about this part 身体のケア
does this really mean "the taking care of your body" ? Or it has other nuances in Japanese ?

I can't speak for the fine nuances. You'd need someone like @Toritoribe for that.

Speaking of Toritoribe , I sure miss him when he in a "not on" period.
