I can't think of anything I dislike about japan, is one of the most major reasons that I like japan. But specifically my favorite things about japan are the culture, the people, the language, the food, and entertainment(anime, manga, NHK)
Im new, and i am not Japanese... not even Asian. Although out of all the Asian cultures and countries ive always loved Japan.
And one of the main things i love about Japan is the movies, i love the Japanese directors and actors. The stories are always so intriguing, and i always find it funny when us Americans take those great films and butcher them. It upsets me because it rarely comes close to the original.
well ok, i just wanted to say hi... also, i have not a one Asian friend because where i live there are none. It would be great to have a Japanese friend.
i'm interested in Japan because i want to understand why japanese people have constantly frustrated me and why they have such underdeveloped social skills.
For a while i hated japan because japanese international students in every country i went to always congregated together and would rarely make genuine friends with non-japanese. and you could say that yeah people generally congregate with those they percieve as similar to them, and that's true, but japanese are even much more likely to discourage interaction with people precieved as different.
i'm also fascinated by the dichotomy of honne vs. tatemae, and how everyone tries to present a false image of perfection and peace to the world when in fact everythin is obviously not going so well.
Hmmh, there is so many things what is in my mind...
Cosplay is first, I REALLY want go to maid cafe.
Food. I want go there and taste all those foods fresh an warm.
People. How many friends I can make when there is limited time.
Martial arts. I just want to see those guys...
Onsen. We have sauna here in Finland, Japan have their own onsen so even once I have to go there.
Language. don't know why but I want know how to speak it.
Architecture. There is so many buildings what I want to see...(old and new).
Im interested in almost everything Japan.
Anime,Manga,food,Culture,Food,Games,People,
And especially J-girls.Thats one of the reasons i want to move to japan.
The Japanese Religion i am not interested in though.
I think many here have also had their first exposure to Japanese culture from some form of Japanese Pop-Culture media such as JPop, Anime, Manga, movies or video games. Others have been lucky enough to have either have had Japanese Nationals as friends or had the opportunity to visit or stay in Japan either due to school or work.
Japan is an addictive place to live. I like just about everything about it. It's a lot safer than my hometown, the food is amazing (I particularly like miso ramen), there are so many beautiful women and genuinely kind people, I've been an anime fan ever since watching Ninja Scroll when I was about 13, the culture's respect for nature, the festivals, kanji...you get the idea. There's not a whole lot for me not to like about this place.
I completely understand how people end up here for 8 years, 10 years, or more.
I mean there is only so much one person can love about a country that they do not know there language. I think it is kinda hard to like J-Pop unless you really know fluent Japanese. However that being said I still like the mood and style of J-Pop. I just don't think you can say you are a huge fan when you can really understand a couple words or phrases or just memorised what the subtitles on youtube said. However if your like the white girl in my grade who knows fluent Japanese I have nothing to bash you on go ahead.
Manga just bothers me since they are really just like any other type of cartoon but w/e There are some good manga's out there.
First of all sorry if my English is not perfect ^ ^
