I have searched around and couldn't find a suitable answer. (私 << appears all the time -confused-)

わたし(わ or は)
watashiwa

(I know in konbanwa/konichiwa you write it as ha but I am not sure if you write it as ha too in watashiwa)

Any help is appreciated :)

It is the same thing. わたし (は)
The Ha particle is used instead of wa, cant remeber why though. Something my sensei told me awhile back

Thanks for the fast reply. Your explanation sure helps. Initially I thought only in certain situations you replace the wa with ha. :-)

Yes, and those situations are when that wa is the grammatical topic marker. Both こんにちは and こんばんは were probably part of some longer question, like こんにちはどうやっているんですか (or probably something more accurate), which would mean "how are you doing today." They were then shortened to their present forms.
