violence in hockey

even nice man like Yao Ming would get pissed off sometimes

few months ago during a Houston Rocket at Orlando Magic game (both teams are my favourites,by the way)

Magic don't have any big guys to play against Yao,so they decided to play physical on Yao.

with the clock ticking against the Magic,
Rockets shot the ball, the Magic's Steven Hunter and Juwan Howard were battling for the rebound against Yao
Yao was hit,and then kicked in the face by Howard during the rebound,
Yao got the ball and swung his elbows to protect the ball,
he did that in sequence, just to tell the guys to back off,
and the referee gave him a technical foul.

All of this is just another reason I don't like professional sports. Or college sports. Well, any sports lately! Besides being forced to watch all kinds of sports while growing up (father was football coach, baseball coach, former player of almost all sports), there is all this violence, greedy multi-million dollar deals, rapists, etc. etc. etc. It's just a dirty business, if you ask me.

When i played sports[football, weightlifit, track, basketball] some ofthe best times i had was when i was in middle school. High school became competive but i was still the man then, i switched schools and tried to get back up to status but that wasn't going to happen. It changed sooooooooooooooo much, from a Games i loved to Games that just pissed me off becuase the coaches looked at what status they would get for haveing this awesome player but forgot what the Game meant.

I agree with you, those players get millions of dollars just for playing the sport they are good at,they are playing for the money

although there are players who really just wanted to play and win regardless of the amount of money they get.......but most of the players likes to ask for big contracts...

I dunno what you saw, but Bertuzzi pulled a TKO punched and broke that Calorado guy's neck.

he did not...the dogpile broke his neck..the shot broke his jaw and the facial lacerations were caused when they were on the ground sliding

He Looked So Sincere When He Apologised....

except for the big chunk of onion he kept rubbing on his face.He probably will miss a couple car payments with the BIG fine he has to pay!

Oh sorry I didn't go far into details, maybe next time ill write a essay not to miss any details.

I think the Media has done a HUGE disservice with the Bertuzzi hit. I watched the game against Colorado that night, and most games this season. (The 窶朗ucks are my #1 favrorite Sports team bar none)

#1 Moore窶冱 neck is FRACTURED not BROKEN窶ヲ that窶冱 a big difference. Moore will probably play next season, while Bertuzzi might still be under suspension.

#2 Two weeks ago Moore laid a very questionable hit on the Canucks leading Scorer Markus Naslund (my favorite player), one that had the potential to do the same to naslund as did to him. When Naslund was outstretched skating in the middle of the ice, Moore sideswiped his head with his shoulder窶ヲ knocking him out. He was only out for a week with a concussion, but the league did nothing about it and no penalty was assessed. What makes this case different from all the other incidents is that the canucks said that Moore better watch his back because if the league doesn窶冲 do anything about it, they will.

#3 the Canucks and Colorado are divisional rivals vying for top seed in the west. This game had everything on the line. The canucks were losing badly though by the time of the hit, and the game was already dirty. Usually in the NHL you don窶冲 go out and run the score on another team. However Colorado窶冱 coach Tony Granato saw it differently, it was 8~2 for Colorado when Burtuzzi hit him. In such a high focus game, and being beaten so badly, emotions ran high, and this was the result. The Canucks played Colorado a week ago, after the Naslund hit, and it was a very close game (tied 5-5), and there was no chippy play that game.

I窶冦 not saying Bertuzzi窶冱 hit was justified, not at all, but there was some other circumstances that place it into context of what happened. The Canucks are now #$@# for the playoffs because they don窶冲 have a player to match Bertuzzi窶冱 size.

Institute this rule:

To play pro hockey, one must have 5 years experience being a figure skater.

Then all of NHL players would be gay! They would just put their hands on their hips and point and shout at each other instead of physically fighting.
