Have ever been in Uzbekistan? No? Ok, I'll tell you about this beautiful country!
Maybe you listened about "Th Great Silk Road"... so... "The great Silk road" - the large ancient transit, that connect countries of the East and West and their people. Here, Eastern and Western traditions and customs have merged into a single whole, and unique monuments of Medieval Eastern architecture, the Kukeldash and Barak-Khana Madrassahs erected in the 16th century, have been preserved to this day. Today Tashkent is the largest city in the Central Asia. It is famous as one of the world centers of science and culture. The collection of the Uzbek Museum of Fine Arts would be honour to any capital city, while the items of traditional arts and national architecture displayed at the Museum of Applied Art of Uzbekistan. .... And, that is not all! Maybe you want to know more... Ok! Ask me and I'll tell you!

Wow...!! I can't say anything about the beauty of Uzbekistan because I've never seen any pictures of the landscape or whatever. . . but I can say welcome to Jref !! I hope you stick around, Origa san, and join in our discussion about things that are Japanese too !!

Yet, I'd like to hear something about that country too. . . from time to time.

Bukhara was a great seat of learning during various Muslim eras. The history of Bukhara more than 2000 years old, it can be traced from the early Zoroastrian period, down to the early Arab invasions. It's numerous old buildings, forts and mausoleums reflect a rich cultural heritage. Architecture of various periods is visible, right from the early ruins of the city walls. The impressive Kalyan Minaret (XI c.) and Madrassah, the unique mausoleum of Ismail Samani (IX-X cc.), the Ark fortress, the Mazare Nagsh Bundy (XIV c.), the Madrassah of Mir Arab (XVI c.), and the Sitora Mokhi Khosa - the summer palace of the last Emir of Bukhara, are a few of the fascinating sites in and around Bukhara, that the traveller should not miss.

I emagine in a central asian country like that, the scenery is as interesting as the cultural offerings.
