Are the Nordic countries better than the rest of the world?

The Nordic Countries have a Long History of socially progressive politics.
Yes there is that ugly word, socialism.
They have been doing it for ages, and low and behold. It's a nice place to live.
They are also very rich countries, but this is not due to vast economic power, It's more down to the political culture in these countries.
Norway for example has practically no sovereign debt.
Scandinavians have a reputation for being pragmatic and intelligent.
Actually when you think about it.
Countries with a habit / reputation for being culturally and politically pragmatic are the ones who are doing the best.
And Countries full of reactionary hotheads seem to be "dropping like flies".
