University-Affiliated Japanese Language Program

Hi everyone. I want to do a one year, pure japanese language study at a non-degree program beginning next fall. Ideally, I want to enter a program affiliated with a highly reputed Japanese university (I want university-affiliation for social opportunities, and a university name that looks good on my resume). So far, I am aware of three such one-year programs. They are affiliated with:

-Waseda
-Keio
-Ritsumeikan in Kyoto


Is anyone aware of any other University affiliated programs? I have already tried to look through a couple of search directories without any success. Help!

I've always thought highly of what Nagoya University offers. In eligibility it doesn't say anything about being enrolled at the university so I think this is relevant. The below are both two semester, one year courses, 30 hours a week! I like the sound of that, maybe I'll enroll. On the downside I've heard that Nagoya's a bit of a boring place to live. :/

Hmm, this doesn't look good. I am currently living in Japan, working for the Jet Program and did not take any japanese courses, let alone major in anything related to Japan, when I went to Uni two years ago. The only condition I fit is the final, JLPT one. Hmm, maybe I will email them just in case. Thanks for the post.

Waseda's SILS program is taught all in English, except for the Japanese classes. I understand that Yokohama has a program that might be taught in Japanese. These are exchange programs, however, I'm not sure if you can enroll from within Japan just to take some language classes or lectures.

I don't know what this SILS program you are talking about is. What I am applying for at Waseda is the following:

"The Intensive Japanese Language Program, offered by the Center for Japanese Language at WasedaUniversity, is a one-year program to study Japanese language intensively. This program is for those who are enrolled in undergraduate courses or who have obtained a ﾂ"Bachelor's degreeﾂ". Through various courses provided in different levels, skills and themes, students can study Japanese language according to their own abilities and goals."

To clarify, I am not interested in taking any classes in English or enrolling in some lectures or language classes. I am looking for an intensive long term (6month to 1 year, not a summer program) language program that will get me a visa longer than a tourist visa, involve zero English, allow me to study japanese, but be attached to a university.
