Understanding weather to use To or Ya in this sentence.

Also apologize if this is in the wrong subsection.

私は犬と猫を見ました

I assume it is read as I saw a dog and a cat. But I'm unsure if to or ya is correct... Because when i google it it shows it as ya.

I should be able to answer this correctly.

Using "to" is correct for "I saw a dog and a cat."

"Ya" is used when it's an uncomplete list and implies that there were other things among the like besides a dog and a cat that you've seen. Using "ya" here might be be translated as "I saw a dog and a cat etc" or "I saw a dog and a cat among other things." I believe.
