Translated correctly?

Trying to do a quicky translation for a martial artist friend, however my skills are still limited so I wanted to make sure I translated this correctly.

He wanted "Warrior Monk academy of martial arts" in Japanese.

This is what have come up with, it feels close, but not quite right...

戦士の僧の学園の武芸

There seems to be two words for monk available, and I didn't quite want to use the Romaji for "akademi" as it seemed a bit too americanized? Is there anyway to cut out some of the "No"s? It seems excessive

My opinion would be to get rid of the の's. Also, change the order of 学園 and 武芸. That would give you 戦士増武芸学園. But as Paul would say, you should probably wait for a NSoJ.

It gives it a more formal and "official" sound without the の's. That's all. You see this a lot in newspapers and such.

My opinion would be to get rid of the の's. Also, change the order of 学園 and 武芸. That would give you 戦士増武芸学園. But as Paul would say

Well, OK I probably would but I agree with Glenn's suggestions.

The reason why the の's (probably) disappear is that it's a name. 学園 is acting as a suffix to that name. It's like having 日本語能力試験 instead of 日本語の能力の試験. The first is "The Japanese Language Proficiency Test" while the second is "a test of proficiency in the Japanese language".

I see... that is good to know! I always wondered the reasons why I saw sometimes a string of No's and other times when they were totally absent.

I think 学園武芸 (Academy of Martial Arts) might be the preferred order, at least according to Google, but that's without the Warrior Monk part.

It wasn't just you. There's something screwy with the set up since the last update. Maybe it's time I bugged them about it again.

学園 would be a bit strange for a martial arts establishment, I think. I believe something with 館 instead of 園 would be more like it.

I think it will work with a little persuading. (The trick is to paste _after_ selecting Western European) :?

Actually this forum is just (for some reason) displaying in Western-European by default even though the charset has been set to shift-jis.
