Ninety-nine per cent of my work-related commutes are on the bicycle, and whenever I have a few moments to spare, I'd like to explore new areas in and around Tokyo. In the past few weeks, I had the chance to scout the eastern parts of Tokyo Bay. Find a few of my impressions below. Sorry about the mediocre quality of some photos; many of them were shot with the iPhone (which, in fact, is my only excuse for their quality). All of them are linked to the Japan Gallery.

Tokyo Gate Bridge (東京ゲートブリッジ) opened on February 12, 2012, and connects Wakasu (若洲), an area of reclaimed land at the southern tip of Kōtō-ku, with Jōnanjima (城南島), another reclaimed island just north of Haneda Airport, thereby technically spanning Tokyo Bay.
