North American Godzilla fans will be gathering July 8 - 10, 2004 at the Crowne Plaza O'Hare International Hotel in Rosemont, IL for G-FEST XII. The special guest for G-FEST XII is Yoshimitsu Banno, the director of Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971). Other featured guests include actor Robert Scott Field of Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), Yoshikazu Ishii, first assistant special effects director of Godzilla: Final Wars (2004), and actor Carl Craig of Gamera vs. Viras (1968).
G-FEST XII will be screening Godzilla: Final Wars, Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah at the Pickwick Theater in nearby Park Ridge, Illinois. "Godzilla: Final Wars is very unconventional for a Godzilla film, as Godzilla vs. Hedorah was also considered unconventional for a Godzilla film in 1971, so this year's G-FEST is celebrating The Unconventional Godzilla," said convention chairman J. D. Lees. "When we say unconventional, we mean way different than usual."
G-FEST XII will also have a giant dealers room (full of Japanese toys and movie memorabilia), a super Godzilla display, model instruction, video room, Destroy All Monsters Tournament, Godzilla: Save The Earth Tournament, costume parade & contest, art contest, video contest and more.
Weekend admission tickets are $29.00 for adults, $10 for youth (12 and under). Daily admission (at the door) is $15.00 for adults, $5.00 for youths. Children 5 and under are admitted FREE.
