Have you even been stared at when you change in a public swimming pool changing room? It's like being stared at in an onsen....

I really, really don't understand why. If it's a changing room, I am to understand the people using it would change their clothes for "swimming attire", so why a Japanese man would stare at another Japanese man(unless he is the typical close pervert kind of person) is beyond me. Now, maybe if you're a non-Japanese person in Onsen you might get....a little bit of an eye, but seriously, why must it take place in a changing room? Sounds pretty homosexual to me...

OH ****.
I have to start taking showers with my gym classmates in January. I wish Health was year long.

I hate showering with other people. :/

So......you wouldn't go to hot springs and/or public bath houses? You wouldn't shower with your spouse?

Dont stare and they wont stare back ;)

I don't have problems with people looking at me anyway, I know im so damn sexy :D

I was always a little nervous about the onsen thing. I finally got up the courage  to do it and a few minutes later a group of very rowdy young J-dudes came in splashing eachother, running around, and laughing loudly. I never returned. I don't think onsens are really my thing anyways.

I don't enjoy the male bonding in shower rooms that many seem so fond of -_- for some reason chasing/being chased in a game of towel snapping with my dick flailing wildly doesn't appeal to me.

being stared at while jst doing normal stuff though?.. no problem.. what's the biggie?.. oh yeah.. that is :D

To answer your question, yes quite frequently. Of course they don't stare when I'm in Asia. 😊
I think it's out of curiosity when people stare, be it Asians in the West or Westeners in Asia. Two girls I know went to the sauna, they are both Swiss, but one understands Thai as she grew up in Thailand. There were also two Thai girls in the sauna room chit-chatting about them, breasts, body shape etc. One found it rather embarassing and wanted to leave, but the other one made her stay. She was curious whether Swiss girls look the same between their legs and continued staring, confident that nobody in the room understood what they were talking about...haha, my friend really enjoyed their conversation, and when my friend left the room she said "byebye and have a nice day" in local Thai dialect - the Thai girls were totally shocked, one can imagine the looks on their faces...

I actually like onsen.

One story:

I was visiting Beppu, a famous onsen resort town in Kyushu , a few years ago, and decided to go check out on of the "mixed" baths. So, me and a Finnish friend of mine imbued some alcohol and headed off to the baths. We arrive at the resort, have some more drinks, hit up the regular bath, and then decide to venture out into the mixed bath, a large natural spring based onsen outside. We walk in bucknaked, and are met by 3 or 4 couples soaking peacefully.....

Who promptly leave as soon as we get in!

😌

I always feel like a waterbuffalo in Japan.

also with girls ?????? o.O

Well, that depends. I would hate showering with girls i don't know after gym-class (i think they do that in Iceland), i guess i'm a bit shy.

Rakuten, what?!?!??!?! They were curious if the girls looked the same between their legs? Jeez, I know I'ev asked dumb questions, but why wouldn't they?

And, I can't believe he said dick either. Most forums I've been too find dick to be one of the many banworthy words.

But while we're on the subject, I too don't find naked games with other males fun. Granted, I've seen many of my male friends naked and been naked around male friends, but they've been my best friends for many a years, and we're both males who have girlfriends and are not virgins, so I couldn't care less. BUT, if some stranger whips my *** with a towel, I'm not going to be pleased, nor if he stares at my phallus. Look, I'm not going to compliment myself, because, well, I think we all know what I mean, but I don't like it when people just glance at me like I'm something new, and yes, my private areas have been the object of scanning quite a few times.

Anyways, I haven't been to Onsen, and if people want to stare, then so be it. I mean, if they're so behind they don't realize that many genetalia look alike, then they I suppose need a glance.

So, anybody up for a game of grab-***? I'll go first...

I'm a guy but I have gynocomastia so I walk into a woman's bathroom with my long hair out. They usually don't catch me because i keep my looks pretty. However some stare. I make sure to wear makeup and a bra when i walk in.

heh just kidding...however when i was young like 4 i use to go into the YMCA and had to be brought into the woman's room with someone cause i was stoopid and my father was neglectful so i didn't know what to do, but i saw boobies. I think there are differences between nations. America is a nation where people lock their doors. And other countries are places where very little is private. Same sex bathrooms and showers. Like in StarShip Troopers.

Is it worth smelling all day after gym if you don't take a shower?

Back in January of 1975, when my wife to be and I first took up residence together, we lived in a small apartment with a 6 tatami room, a toilet, and a tiny closet of a kitchen area, but with no hot water or bath. This made it necessary to use the public bath, which was about a block down the street from our apartment. It was your basic neighborhood bath house with two doors, one for men and one for women, through which one would enter the appropriate changing room, separated from the other changing room by a cashier's desk and a flimsy partition. From there, one would enter the bath, which was a tiled room, lined with pairs of hot/cold spigots mounted low on the wall, with a big tub of hot water at the end of the room.

Now by this time, I was accustomed to community showers from school gym, a couple of years of college dorm life, and four and a half years of being in the military, so getting buck naked and showering with a bunch of strangers was a pretty familiar experience. However, it was a little bit weird the first time I walked into the public bath, being the only gaijin. What made it even weirder was that it was late at night when there were more than a few members of the local yakuza in there having their bath time. Those guys sure have some impressive ink work.

Ritsuko had briefed me on basic Japanese bath etiquette, and I had stayed in Japanese inns before, so I felt like I knew how to go about bathing there without creating an international incident, but what I was not prepared for was the willingness of others to help me bathe.

I sat on a little wooden stool, dousing myself with water, and soaping up, when suddenly I felt someone washing my back. Startled, I said something on the order of "what", as I abruptly turned to stare down the guy next to me. He looked quite surprised, grinning, holding the soap covered towel with which he had been touching my back a milisecond before. Everyone in the room was looking at me, and I noticed that several of the guys in the room were washing the back of the person next to him. Silence had fallen upon the room, and quickly assessing the situation, I surmised that it must be the custom, so I smiled, nodded, and went back to what I was doing. After my new buddy had washed my back, he motioned for me to wash his back. It felt really weird, but it did make sense, so I went ahead and washed the back of my tattoo covered friend. After that, all was well in the bath house, and the new gaijin in the neighborhood was accepted in the late night yakuza bath club.

Walking back to our apartment that night, I told Ritsuko what had happened, to which she giggled as she replied, "Oh!! I should have told you that might happen!"

Cool story!

And is it just me....

or do there seem to be less and less yakuza these days?
Heh, I know the papers say less Japanese people are willing to join now, but it also seems like people who were in Japan say, 20-30 years ago have a ton of yakuza stories, compared to the far and few that surface now.
