Times Trading Japan - is it a legitimate business?

I got my first Forester in the early 80's and it was super small compared to today's models. I just sold my 2010 to my sister and now have just a 2013. In Maine the Subaru is super popular for winter driving. I always put aggressive off road tires on mine and use a full size spare that matches. It has almost 10 inches of ground clearance and handles mud or snow really great. I load about 1000 pounds of stuff in the back to go to camp and it only drops about an inch in the back with a big heavy load. I hope my 2022 Forester gets here before the heavy snow storms hit.

2021 global supply chain crisis Shipping
By mid-2021, major American ports became inundated with historic amounts of inbound cargo. Terminal staff lacked the bandwidth to process the cargo, leading to extended wait times. Container ships began to stall outside ports for days or weeks. This surge spread inland as rail and trucking services struggled under the increased load alongside a labor shortage. The United States trucking industry was already short on drivers before the pandemic, with high turnover and subpar compensation. Though enough shipping containers exist to handle global needs, given the amount held in transit or misplaced in wrong parts of the supply chain, containers entered short supply. Additionally, half of the sailor population comes from developing, under-vaccinated countries

Hi folks....
Are you there?
I have paid money for a car to this company and then managed recover some of the money after two months :(
I can explain the story if anyone interested :)

As it happened.......
17/11/2021: Sunny from Times Trading JapanCo Ltd contacted me on WhatsApp.
19/11/2021: He has sent pictures of a car on WhatsApp, also said that car will be received by me within three weeks/mid of December 2021. I liked the deal and asked him to send the invoice to my email.
Paid the money via bank account on the same day.
There was no more communication via email after 19/11/2021.
I had to chase him for update on WhatsApp.
8/12/2021: he said "applied for export process"
12/12/2021: he said shipping space is full and this happens every year.
I was wandering why he hasn't told me this at the first place, however that was a good reason for me to believe.
14/12/2021: I have organized a shipping agency from my country (NZ) and asked him to contact them. He said he will contact but he never contacted them.
19/12/2021: He said car will be sent on 28/12/2021, then he came back on 30/12/2021 and told me it is Goldenweek holiday in Japan, therefore people are busy here.
I was still patiently waiting................ as it's a holiday season.
03/01/2022: He said he was going to call a shipping company when I asked for an update.
04/01/2022: Luckily I have read all the comments posted on this forum. Thank you so much guys......
I was told him about this forum and told him that the way he behaves is giving me an impression that the comment posted on this particular forum is true.
He replied "they are competitor to us and misguiding you". I believed him and apologized.
05/01/2022: I have found another shipping company called "Autohub" through another agent (who was really kind to give their contact and their reference) and provided the details to Sunny. He said he has spoken to them and he was going to send the car on 17/01/2022.
17/01/2020: I have called Autohub to find out whether my car was sent; they said there was no car sent/schedule to NZ from this company.
18/01/2022: He said he will call me back with an update when I asked for an update again.
18/01/2022 evening: He said that the car has an oil leaking issue, so he has to fix them to send it out. I told him even an ordinary person can find out if there is an oil leak in the car; I was surprised that you could not figure it out.
I have asked him to refund my money , he said I have to be liable for remittance charge and I agreed to it.
19/01/2022: He said refund is in process
I asked him how can you refund it without getting my details. He immediately asked for my photo ID. I have sent all the bank details (advised my bank) including my full name, address, bank AC number, IBAN number, bank address, Swift code, BSB number/sorting code and routing code but I refused to give my photo ID and told him that I was going to approach the embassy if he mucks around furthermore.
I have also told him that I can send my photo ID to bank's/embassy's email address if necessary.
21/01/2022: He said money has been sent to Money transfer and I was given a pin number.
There was no answer when I asked how much have you paid.

I went to the MoneyGram and shocked. He has not send the full amount. Money was paid by a person called Qasim Iqbal and he has indicated to the money transferring company that I am his friend. Company name was not indicated and they have not mentioned me as a customer.

Now, he is saying that he has spent the rest of the money for transport, parking and his documentation.

The funny part is he told me that he is the only (genuine) one who can provide this much refund but other are not like this in Japan. He also advised me to not to buy car in Japan. I have replied him that "You learn to be honest and straight forward. Other companies are very helpful and honest there. Please do not spoil their reputations by this kind of behavior"

I will update if I recover my money.

This is my personnel experience so far. You can make your own decision.......

What % of your money did he refund?

How come?
You gave your money to a fraudulent business and got most of it back! Typically you would get 0 back. I think that's quite unusual and, thus, lucky.

What made you think they were legitimate to begin with? Had you been searching for a car? Had you contacted them? The beginning of your timeline said somebody contacted you on WhatsApp suddenly. But if that's true, it makes no sense that you would think it's any more legitimate than a Nigerian prince sending you an email.

Haha. True.
I never bought a car from Japan before. I have registered on Japanesecartrade.com and couple of other websites for the first time.
Once I registered, started getting messages to my whatsapp account from car dealers and this guy.
I thought that things work like the part of the world I am living, therefore I did not suspect. He also has a bank account number, office website & company email etc.

After this incident, I have spoken to the agencies (like Japanesecartrade.com) but they have no clue about this person.

I have noticed a strange thing; a number of times he received phone calls to another mobile while talking to me and he muted my phone calls to answer those phone calls.

Hey, I have ordered my vehicle from this company, still communication is going fine & smooth, Let's see what will happen.
BTW, I have received Bill of Leading. (BL)

That's great. What kind of car? Where are you shipping it to?

If that was the case, (my personal opinion is) they steals money from ten people and sends out couple of cars overseas for formalities/just to show the world that they are sending cars.

Or, more likely, it's a fake account for a fake customer.

I doubt you will see a legitimate bill of lading. Our friend Andy- uses proxy servers to post under UK and German IP addresses but logs in from Ibaraki, where Times Trading Japan is located.
He should be the same guy going by the name Sunny. My guess.

Such a worst fraud.
I reckon, he is asking us to provide photo ID to misuse our name for his fraudulent activities.
