Threads updated on poll vote

When people answer the poll it makes the thread show up as having been updated.

Highly annoying.

Leave the polls open forever. That's fine with me. I just don't want the discussion to appear as updated when no new post has been added.

Yeah, I wouldn't have a problem with that either. I wonder if it's possible to not update the time stamp on a thread if it was just a vote. I feel like there are all sorts of technical issues with leaving polls open but not having them display as having been posted in when someone just votes. That's just a guess, though.

Just checked "New Posts" to find this:

A poll response is not a "new post".

Five of the eight I have to be notified of because somebody added another vote to a long-ago meaningless poll that I couldn't care less about. And they're "stickies", no less.

Yeah, I know. That's why I find it so annoying too. It would be nice if there were a "today's newly voted in polls" link separate from the "new posts" link so whoever's interested in only seeing poll results can check that and whoever doesn't care can just get new posts. I'm not sure if it's possible, though. But I agree, the situation as it is right now is frustrating and annoying.

At the very least they could be un-stickied and left to maintain a position on the page on their own merits. I believe they'd soon fall off the radar.

And let's take notice of the fact that most of the info in the polls is available in members' profiles anyway, if one just has to have it.

Issue resolved. New poll votes will not update threads anymore.

You're my new favorite guy!
