So, what you are saying basically, is that
1.you're entirely ignorant even after people have warned you of another culture's social mores concerning tatoos
2.you say that Japan fascinates you, but then you admit to not really knowing anything about Japan, including the easy accessable stuff like pop-culture, why do you want to move there?
3.you've not only never been out of the states you've also never been out of Georgia (yikes)
4.you're twenty, and though you've been fascinated by Japan since 2, you have never studied the language, and are actually planning around moving to Japan on that basis...
5.You're a tattoo artist with a GED...?
If this is all correct, what you've said, you may be a candidate for the LEAST deserving person to even consider moving to another country, let alone Japan.

My comment was to the nature that some people ask a question and then after a few responses never come back. Sometimes it's pointless to reply.Mike Cash said:He's been actively participating in his thread the whole way through. How did you miss that?
Sour grape would be me saying something like "Oh that country isn't worth visiting anyways...", I support anyones honest attempt at visiting Japan, I don't have much sympathy for the just out of highscool, I want to move to Japan for the rest of my life because it's the city of the future threads, sorry.Mike Cash said:Sounds to me like a hell of a lot of sour grapes from a guy who, despite his best efforts to game the system, wasn't eligible to stay either.
Mikawa Ossan said:It just hit me (even though it wa fairly obvious!) that the OP really wants nothing more than to do a kind of social experiment. It's like when people sit next to the only person on a bus just to see how people react.
That changes a lot. You see, the OP specifically wants to know what it's like to go to a completely alien country with no prior knowledge. Therefore it would e counterproductive for him to do research on the issue past the point of visa requirements.
Actually, the more I think about it, it's really quite interesting what the OP wants to do here. If you actually do complete this endeavor, I think you should write a book about it. I also think (and I am serious about this) that you should look into going to Mongolia instead of Japan. I know that Mongolia is putting a lot of effort in its English education, so it should be possible to find a job, and, for purposes of the book, it might be better for the book because Mongolia strikes me as more exotic than Japan in Western eyes today.
Good luck!
As someone who has been sent back, I'd suggest planning over just "experimental travel", or whatever the original poster is going on about.Kara_Nari said:Just go with your dreams. Whats the worst thing that can happen? They'll send you back to your home country. At least you would have gotten as much as you could out of the situation.

Get with the facts, bud.
The truth is no work is here.
You really gotta try hard to get work.
There is no use for a foreigner here.
Looking for work becomes a journey.
Sorry.
Don't forget vague, innapropriate sexual inuendos.Mike Cash said:Do you ever have anything useful, pertinent, or accurate to say? Or are you just here to practice piss-poor blank verse poetry?
