Things to do before I go back home

Hi guys,
with 4 months left before I go home, I want to cram as much of japan in as I can. Currently my plans include the Kenka Mikoshi in April, Kanamara Matsuri also in april, see Osaka Castle and Himeji castle, see the hanshin tigers play, and throw in some Sakura viewing too. But that's not much to fill 4 months with, so what do you guys suggest? I'll probally try everything you think is worth doing, so let's have it!

Do you live in "Kansai" now?
The place that I recommend
"Ise-jingu Grand Shrine"
Otaki "of" Nachi
"Mt. Koya-san"
"Mt. Hiei-zan"
"Arima hot spring"
"Seto-ohashi"
As for "Ohashi, Akashi", a night view is recommended
"Izumo Taisha Shrine"
"Koraku-en Garden" of Okayama
Recommending it is a 'IYA' hot spring of Tokushima.
Facilities are old, and lodging does not suggest, but an outdoor bath is good.
An outdoor bath in the point that went down ravine by cable car is good.

Food
Please eat Sanuki udon of Kagawa by all means.
There are many well-known stores.
You should eat Matsusaka beef.

I was going to mention that yes I am in kansai now, shinosaka to be exact. What a great list, thank you so much, I will now turn that into my checklist

I would suggest, if you havent yet, that you simply DO go hitting the town for all night drunken club hopping experience.

You simply must.

There's an Izukaya in Namba that has all you can drink for 2 hours at about 900 yen. It's a little hole in the wall, but if you ask around, you should be able to find it.

I want to recommend Kenroku-en Garden of Kanazawa.
I want to recommend Dogo Onsen of Matsuyama of Ehime by all means.
Dogo Onsen became the stage of book "BOCHANN" of Soseki Natsume.
It is written in a public bath of Dogo Onsen that "BOCHANN must not swim" so that there is the scene that "BOCHANN" swam in a public bath with a novel.
In addition, there are all over Japan a lot of recommended places.
It is a place of recommending it in Kyushu
"Sakurajima" "Kirishima Shrine" "Takachiho-jinja Shrine" "Aso" "Unzen" "Beppu hot spring" "Yufuin hot spring" "KUJUU hot spring zone"
"Akiyoshi-dai" of Yamaguchi
Though I wanted to recommend it, Miya-jima Island of Aki of Hiroshima was destroyed in a typhoon of last year.
Because it is appointed to a world heritage, as for "SHIRAKAWAGOU" of Gifu, a snowy house with a principal ridgepole roof piled up is beautiful.
The present season GASYOUZUKURI "architecture with principal ridgepole" is beautiful.
I want to recommend a northeastern trip.
However, Tohoku of April is still snowy, and there may be a closed place.

Wait, Nagashima-san, are you saying Miyajima was destroyed in a typhoon last year? I don't want to hear that! Do you have more details?

I visited there last January (2004).

Edit: OK, I did some research myself. I think you should still visit Miyajima if you can! It was only closed for a month, and the most famous icon, the giant torii, was unhurt. The site was *damaged* but it was NOT destroyed!

I tried to confirm progress information of restoration of "Itsukushima-jinja Shrine" on Internet.
Most of the restoration of "Itsukushima-jinja Shrine" seems to be over. :sorry:
Complete restoration of a Shinto shrine seems to take it for two years.
Expense of 790,000,000 yen is necessary to restore it

Oh my god! WHERE IS IT???? Man, and I thought I knew all the good drinking places in Osaka! At least give me some more details! Is it by the JR station? Near some brothel I might know about?
