This is in response to the person who wanted (and still wants) a good, goood religion. There is no such thing. All positive religions say the same thing: Bhuddism, Christianity, Hinduism, and voodoo (just kidding about that last one). But I've read and practiced most of them without even knowing (ha, ha) and therefore I choose not to follow a specific religion, per-se, but, rather to follow the good and common sense that I was born with, and that makes itself relevant nomatter where I go. You must admit. . . some things always stand true. Don't do to others what you wouldn't like to have done to you (some people like it the hard way, and that's an exception). I'm sure you understand.

I disagree, nothing is wrong, everything goes, everything you are capable of doing physically, its simply that we choose not to do some stuff out of fear, personal values, etc.
But that's not because its wrong to do them.

I think that religion only serves to bring us all to the one truth. . . it's a tool, right? Right. Only a tool for those of us who are searching at the particular time, and the rest, who study all theology subjectively become pastors, and such. . . what do you think?
If I may re-state what I said. . . Nothing is Wrong, like TOOL said "it's only wrong if you get caught". But there are fundamental truths about life that we all know from birth, right? Right. Not an attempt at arrogantce, but you do get us, right? I hope so, because we think that religion should be done away with.
I think that religion only serves to bring us all to the one truth. . . it's a tool, right? Right. Only a tool for those of us who are searching at the particular time, and the rest, who study all theology subjectively become pastors, and such. . . what do you think?

Well, the fact that if you kill a person, he will cease to live in the same manner as he did before is true, however, I don't know of any enlightened being who could clearly decide if its right or wrong to kill a person. Its against life, thats unquestionable, but we, with our poor human comprehension can't decide whether that makes it right or wrong.
I view religion from a similar angle as you, its a tool indeed, but I see it as something that unites people in time of need, it serves as a tool to reinforce war propaganda, to retain traditions that would otherwise disappear and such. Simply, when you don't have need for it, you put it on the shelf, when you need it, you take it off. Of course it must be done subtly, so people will not notice that the media or something suggests that religion unifies them.
Its a tool of manipulation, and a handy one at that.

I apalogize for acting all percentagy (%)on ya'. my fault. I hd been listening to the cool sound of the "Elis Regina and Tom Jobim" and drinking beer (of what brand I will not specify). My passion suqwesters everything of those whom are in my area of influence. Sorry, but not really at all. It really appears, Derfel san, that you misconstrued, or over applied, the portion that you had quoted in your number 3 post above--or, either you simply did not comment in relation to that quote. It appears most correct that that had been applied to principles of nature. I tend to much more fully agree with the accuracy of that claim 'some things always stand true' but application must be realistic, and natural.
Ebina. . . now that's a place where the folks living there may come into much contact with folks who are trying too hard to push their religious belief-system on others. . . namely, those members of the Watchtower Society of New York.
