yes they are in fact chinese food, but the chinese usually steam them, whereas it is mostly the japanese that eat them fried. Ramen and Gyoza are so common in japan that I generally reguard them as Japanese, even though they have chinese origin. Most of my japanese friends agree that ramen and gyoza have been turned into a japanese type food that differs from the ramen and gyoza in China.
