I think it's damn impossible to predict the future, but it's fun to try anyways, eh?

Personally, I'm inclined to hope for the best but plan for the worst.

bush will win the comming election, then the US will split into two factions starting a civil war. the worlds economy will slump and opportunist countries will take advantage of this causing general chaos. then WWIII comes into play and the worlds population will be greatly reduced. the survivors will rebuild but in a better way and technology becomes all crazy weird; time travel and all that jazz.

I voted for "In better synthesis with its self and the environment. Cheer up, we have the capacity to learn!" I believe in the pendulum swing, and that as bad as things can get, they can always get better. A lot of things can happen in 100 years, so I believe in remaining hopeful. Sometimes things can get worse before they get better, but they can always get better.

I know! But even if they do, the pendulum always has to swing back to the other side eventually (thankfully!!).

I'm inclined to think homo sapiens will be around for awhile longer, at least in our terms. (But perhaps not much longer on the scale of this planet's life.) 100 years? Even if there was a nulcear war, a global climate change, and a toxic ocean, people would still survive. Maybe only the fat, rich people hunkered down in government bunkers like good ol' Mt. Cheyenne, but there would be survivors none the less. I just wonder what it will take for human being to change in the ways I hope they do. Perhaps a spoiled planet would be good, if it taught the species how to share for survival. Or not.

I voted no better or worse off. 100 years isn't really that far off, and if I'm really lucky, I'll still be alive (though I won't be very useful ^.^"). I think humans will stick around for a looooooong time (save for a few adaptations/evolutions which will inevitably occur). We'll all be in space stations at one point.

And, if things go my way, each space station will make it's own unique mecha, pick the most troubled youngster of that station to pilot it, and send them off to work together to stop an evil organization.

But I think humans will be close to Extinction due to massive natural disasters.

I think we humans will kill ourselves before a natural disaster, an invasion by aliens, or any other force beyond our little planet, would. That's only if we don't improve ourselves.

The future is always in flux, so there's no way of knowing what will happen an hour from now, never mind 100 years from now, so I don't worry about it. I can think of better things to burn up brain cells on than that.
