So far I have been able to figure out that the first picture is "Sho Wa 18(10 , 8)" not sure what the next kanji is, then "10 month" I think the symbol after 18 is year, but haven't been able to verify(although it does look similar to the kanji for dipper), the second image I haven't been able to find anything about.

Yep, 昭和十八年十月, October of Showa 18 (1943).

Second image is upside down, looks like 内魚光 but the middle character is a little off and might be something else.

Swordsmith's name is Kanemitsu. It should be Takeuchi Kanemitsu, but the first character is missing.
