Sentence question.

Hey guys,
I've been studying using Anki and I'm enjoying it a lot.
I found this sentence:

彼の気持ちが分からない.

Meaning:
I don't understand his feelings.

But my question is: What if I like to change and say:

He doesn't understand his (own) feelings?

Should I write:

彼は彼の気持ちが分からない。

Is that right?

Use 自分 or 自分自身 instead of the second 彼 for more clarity.
