I understand this sentence for the most part, but one part bothers me. (I have that part in purple)
私が行っている学校は工業というものをやっている学校がなので簡単です。
I think it says, "Because the school that I go to is a school that does not do things that are said in the industry, it is easy."
I got this in an e-mail and I'm not sure but I think this 「がな」 near the end is supposed to be 「がない」. Maybe it was a typo. If not, then I don't know what 「がな」 means.
Tell me what you guys think. Thanks!

yeah, it looks like a typo.

and the というもの part is not "things that are said," but more like "(things) called/referred to as." The person seems to be saying that there is no mechanical engineering department at their school.

It should read:
私が行っている学校は工業というものをやっている学校 なので簡単です。

haha that makes even more sense! I was wondering what would be so easy due to the fact that there isn't a mechanical engineering department at his school.
