coukd someone please help me translate this sentence:

導火線の火花は激しい音を出すので、いきなり目の前に出されるとどんな相手でもびっくりしてしまう。

I've attempted to translate it and got "Since the sparks on its fuse produce an intense sound, it sends it out abruptly before its own eyes and even completely frightens whoever the opponent is", but it, especially the last part, doesn't sound right.

is this from a game or something?

It seems like the description of a weapon of some sort... my take is roughly: "the fuse sends out a loud sound when it sparks, so whomever your opponent, they will be surprised/stunned when it ignites in front of them."

相手 can mean opponent, but it commonly refers to any party involved, "party" being legalese to define any person.

The sentence can be translated as follows:
"As the sparks from the fuse create a loud noise, it will startle anyone when this occurs in front of them."

A bit awkward, but I can't really think up a better turn of speech. Key phrases in this sentence are

Sparks from fuse -> create loud noise, therefore occurs in front of anybody = startled person.

Thanks for that. There's just one more sentence I'm struggling with:

この邪悪ないでたちの鎧は最も生存競争が激しい地獄で生きていく為の擬態の為と思われる。

I've tried "Its very fight for survival is thought to be due to its mimicry and in order to survive in violent hell its armor is dressed in this evil" but that just doesn't seem right at all.

と思われる。 (it seems that...)

邪悪ないでたちの (evil looking style) modifies 鎧 (armor)
最も生存競争が激しい (struggle for survival is the most severe) modifies 地獄 (hell)
地獄で生きていく為の (to survive in the hell) modifies 擬態 (mimetism, or disguise)
