Sending people to colonize Mars.

It's the best idea to get rid of some armies. and some occupiers...

I kind of don't like this logic. You must have some really good hate against soldiers, do you? :sorry:

Well if its not habitable it seems kind of a waste, other than for scientific study of the actual planet rather than living conditions. But if they do find out some efficient way to live there, that would be cool

i'm 100 percent with colonizing other planets because sooner or later humans will need more resources, I read some articles about Human needs in the near future, According to the articles we will need another earth and half to live like normal american person, And we will need 7 earths to live like Japanese person ! And 1.5 or 1.7 if i remember correctly to live like Chinese person lives.
Of course NASA is not wasting money.

I'm hoping Mars will have less morality and more brothels, watering holes and narcotics than Earth. More pornography, too and even more varied. And people who identify as 'right-thinking', 'upstanding' or 'well-adjusted' will be ostracised. The only exception will be with regard to 'upstanding' people who refer to 'being erect.'

you know if they grew alot of weed there it wouldn't be too bad 😄

I am with Hezam about the soldiers. If all soldiers are sent, who would be left to start wars? But not just soldiers, all those who always look at others with suspicion and figure they have to put some threat upon them. Then those people threaten back, sowing more suspicion. The cycle is obvious its always the same type of paranoid male starting it and perpetuating it. I would like to get rid of them all...permanently.

But I see no hope for Mars, or hope for Earth or humans in Mars. We better figure out our problems down here cause Mars is no solution for anything.

Nothing you mentioned is immoral, and nothing wrong with morality. The problem is there are so many people who claim to be moral, but know nothing of morals. Don't let them fool you. With alcohol, sex and narcotics, only abuse is immoral. These things in moderation are not a moral problem.

They will send people there to colonize Mars and will try to see if they could survive on man made machines cultivating stuffs necessary for human survivals. I don't they would have these kind of errands there to think that's it's a waste land. Literally, no one will survive there without any Earthly supportive machines, or resources. Basically they want to try if somebody else their could survive given with some survival helping machines, which is basically for me is too much risky.

It would kind of sick to live on mars because as far as I know (and correct me if I'm wrong) but mars has no vegetation or organic life. It's just a barren wasteland. Who wants to live on a giant rock formation?

However I think it's a great idea to let wars be fought there. It could save the Earth from any potential destruction and any innocent casualties.

i think there are other planets like earth, And i can't imagine my self living in a whole new planet !! Veeeeeery exciting !!

Well you know I doubt it will be in our lifetime. Even if it is, 99.9% of people probably wont have the money to afford it ☝

Mars One offers an out of this world experience | Travel Weekly

I'd be very surprised if a non-profit non-government group actually successfully colonized mars, but good luck to them. Since it's taking neither any of my effort nor any tax dollars, I'm all for it.

Generally speaking, I think colonizing Mars is an important step for the human race. This may be morbid but, I think sooner or later by human or natural action, all human life is going to be wiped out. Super-plagues, asteroids, nuclear holocaust... if all that's avoided then certainly when the sun turns into a red giant (I believe the time until then is measured in millions of years, maybe billions).

Of course, having people off of earth won't make anyone on earth any less dead, so in that sense it doesn't matter... but if you care about the human species continuing to exist (and there's a high chance that you do since caring about survival of the group is strongly selected for by evolutionary forces), well, if you care about that then you'll have to agree that we need off-planet settlements. Since Mars is the nearest planet that -could- be permanently colonized it'll be good practice. Of course, sooner or later we need to colonize other stars, but that's not a problem for this generation (well, not for this generation unless a cure for aging is found soon).

Mars -is- a dead rock, but it doesn't have to stay that way. We have the technology to bring it to life (actually, you hardly need technology, life is pretty darned good at self-propogating, just bring some samples of arctic ice and see what single-celled organisms survive and you'll have oxygen in your atmosphere in no time. Probably not enough to support -human- life, but it'll be earth-like life anyway, and make it easier to harvest oxygen.) If you don't want to do planetary engineering, we also have the technology to create a self-sustaining solar-powered population inside a dome. Of course, the expense is extraordinary to do so.

Well if we could invent a really cheap energy source that will make a torque that is enough to bring a vessel on a speed of light or hopefully more without injuring the passengers, then that could be possible. I hope they'll do something about this anti-matter technology. It's one possible way.

It's one great possibility and idea, I just hope that they do set these things up not by manual man labor. Hopefully, they can invent machines as well, installing this, hopefully a new technology, in Mars.
