Seeking Help for my stay in Japan

Hello all & thank you in advance.

I have previously threaded another post on the same topic. However, I wanted to dig a little digger. I am from the United
Kingdom, and presently looking for ways one could study Soto-Zen in Japan. I am aware that the majority, if not all of the Temples in Japan set a cost per night to stay (understandably). I was wondering if anyone knew of any temples that allow students to stay on a donation basis, as I would prefer to stay for a longer period of 3-6 months, yet for a stay around this period it would be highly costly. If anyone could shed some light on anything they may have heard of it would be highly appreciated. Thank you
