Saying multiple things/actions in a sentence

Hello. I've been having difficulty with something in my studies.

How does one say two things in a sentence? I'm probably wording it wrong so let me provide an example.

I played tennis and went to a cafe.

How would that translate in japanese? I understand that 'to' is used as 'and' but I can't understand finalizing the sentence with verb due to performing two actions.

Very confused and would appreciate any help >_<

Probably with the ~て form of a verb. Your example may go something like テニスをしてカフェに行った
