For sure that doesn't explain the people here that are quite advanced. It's harmless really for those days and times and machines when IME isn't converting properly or for other reasons cannot be set up at all.If you are using romaji, you have not even started studying Japanese, period.

A general chat for beginners who don't have the feture or typeing in Japanese, or you just want to have conversations in romaji.
RULES:
1. DO NOT type in hiragana/katakana/kanji
2. ALWAYS type in romaji (if you want to type something in English, put it in perenthesis)
3. Have fun!

Actually it is possible to type in Japanese without a Japanese IME. I do it all the time at work (don't tell anyone). It's a bit of a pain, but you just have to go to Google, set the language to Japanese, and then type a Japanese word in the search bar, and you'll get candidates in Japanese text. I've posted a few things in Japanese that way, although it is a bit much if you're shooting for more than 3 or 4 sentences.
