Road Trip Songs?

Ok, so me and a few friends are going on a bit of a trip in the car, so we gonna make some mix-cds. I was wondering what songs you think are good road trip songs. I tend to think any Queen song is good. What say you?

If you were to mix in a couple of the best of up tempo tunes from Lynard Skynard (sp?) I think it would help the forward motion excitement of being out on the open road. I often listen to them when on the open road. MM

Tsuyoiko has good taste in music!
I used to listen to a lot of Alice Cooper while driving, too. (Bed of Nails is a good one; so's School's Out... of course! )
Jacqueline by Franz Ferdinand. Especially if you're going on vacation.
The Beatles, Can't buy me love, and Day Tripper.
Japanese-wise, Driver's High by l'Arc~en~ciel is naturally a good one.
I also like to drive to Vanilla by Gackt, simply because I know the words and can sing along loudly and obnoxiously. Blast and Yuuwaku by Glay, and Love Phantom by B'z, are also good ones for driving to! As is anything by Schwarz Stein if you want to chill.

God, there's so many, but it's so long since I've driven any distance that I've forgotten what all my old favourites were!

Pack some Doobie Brothers, Dire Straits, Prince, Meatloaf, Clapton, CCR, ZZTop, AC/DC, BTO, and Johnny Lee Hooker!

If you compile a set of their works you can't go wrong!

I was thinking more along the lines of Money for Nothin' (Dire Straits), Layla, Cocaine, Before you Accuse Me, (Clapton)...but to tell the truth, I love all of the music from every artist I mentioned.

I could also add in Grand Funk Railroad, Earth Wind and Fire, and a little Moody Blues.

Anything by The Doors, but I'm biased, because I'm a huge Doors fan.

Lately, when I make CD's for roadtrips, I usually put in a mixture of artists like Steve Miller Band, Bad Company, Fleetwood Mac, Heart, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Bob Seger, Allman Brothers, etc. etc. I could go on and on.

It depends on what mood I'm in, though. Sometimes I want to hear Trance when I'm driving, sometimes I want to hear Rap, sometimes I want to hear R&B, sometimes (old) country. It just depends. Right now, I'm into what I put above, though. Songs that remind me of my childhood!

The Best of George Thoroughgood and the Destroyers is already my designated album for my next road trip. Energetic and fun, it's good stuff if you're into straight forward rock n roll.

I'll usually listen to Bob Dylan (pre- Jesus Freak sellout era), Bob Seger, Stone Temple Pilots, The Doors, Pearl Jam, or Eric Clapton.

They make me feel very roadtrip-esque, but I'll also listen to Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, John Lennon, Tupac, and any of my other favorites just for the heck of it.

Actually, I think any of music you like sounds great while driving. You get that feeling of freedom, put your foot down, cruise along, with the sun not in your eyes (preferably -_-) but shining, you are all carefree and leaving your troubles behind...................

....................................... (forget battling your way through sleet and black ice 80 miles to work at 6 am on a freezing morning in February. >_<)
