Okay because some people are having problems with the forum rules (see here), let's discuss these rules together.

Regarding uploads
Jref does not allow people to post links to torrents, mp3's, yousendit/megaupload/rapidshare (and all the other upload websites) because of copyrighted materials.

This forum can get in trouble when copyrighted material is being posted. There are plenty of other mediums that can be used besides the forum for all transfers and sharing, use them instead.

Requesting songs to be send to your email is also NOT allowed. (Use pm only, or use the chatbox)

Signature rules.
"All signatures should not exceed the following size limits:
For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and up to 90 characters per line. Empty lines are also counted. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed.

For images in signatures: one image up to 300 pixels wide, 100 pixels tall and 20k in size

If you do want to have text and an image, you can have a maximum of 2 normal lines (or 4 small lines) and one image (in a new line) up to 300 pixels wide, 60 pixels tall and 15k in size."

If a team member sends you a pm asking you to resize or replace your sig, please do so. Failure to comply or repeated abuses will result in your sig being removed without prior notice. We do appreciate your cooperation in this matter
I have been really easy on this rule, and I even have said to a lot of people that around 120-130px is fine as well, this is going to change because we need to be on one line with the rules.
Quality not quantity, chatbox, and off topic posting.
Please think about Quality rather than quantity. Don't use thread as a chat box (there is a chatbox so use that one), or going to off topic to much, This kind of messages will be deleted if this is happening to much.
This seems to be the main problem in the Music section, posting useless posts which don't contribute anything to the thread/forum. Of course you can go off topic so now and then for a few posts, but please go back on topic after 3-4 posts or add some information in your off topic posts that has something to do with the thread.

Example: you are not going to discuss what you have done yesterday on school/work, or going to Japan next year. There are enough threads in the Chit Chat & Miscellaneous section where you can go to discuss your private life, and off topic posts more.

Try these threads:
Wow - Something Great Happened To Me Today !!!!
Today in school-School Sucks-School Was Great
The Bummer and Rant Thread!
Todays weather

Using threads as a chatbox is also something what is happening a lot, this means 3-4 persons posting off topic posts towards each other within 1-2 hours time. If you see someone is going off topic or feels like chatting send that person a PM and go to the chatbox.

Last thing on this are the "Nosebleed, I love him, and XDDDDDDDDDDDDDD" , this is a serious forum with a lot of active members. Try to keep post quality, and not the nonsense posts such as these. Make your own forum if you want to do this.

We are looking forward to read your comments on these matters for a better understanding towards each other.

I and all the other Mods are doing our best to keep the forum nice for everyone, and to keep it on it's level.

^^ you put all that really well Dutch Baka i'm so glad your the one moderating the music forum

To be honest i have myself bought people up on the carpet for noincence fangirling and posts with no merit

Not that i'm not guilty too i know it could be said that i'm to old for fangirling but its fun and relaxing and it all just for a giggle

You can't yell at people for the odd giggle

Also it is true that perticuly in the Miyavi thread that we do chat oftain for pages offtopic *sigh* i sopose we are in the wrong for doing that but when there is not much to talk about you wander and don't even realize you are doing it

BUT outside of the music forum i never fangirl OK once just to wiend Ayu up

But then i read about how i'm looked down on in the rest of the forum becouse i post in the music forum that made me really pissed

Its unfair to think that becouse you might post in the music forum or enjoy a giggle in this passing life and fleeting world your an idiot

Who has nothing to offer in any other topic i began to feel victimised and eerie when i posted ele where like a witch everybody was chaseing with a lighted torch

How do you expect to get younger members to post outside of the music forum with an attitude like that

To be honest none of the older members on this forum are intrested in Ancafe or Gazette so why all the complaints

I understand ringing in the reins when it gets to far but it wasn't just about the spaming

Its about some members have a personal resentment towards music and the people who are fans of the bands people who seemingly go unpunished while the rest of us get pushed off of the more serious descusions through sterotypeing and vitimiation

It may not mean anything to the very young members of the music forum but to the older ones such as Kinsao and my self who like to participate in more serious descusions its highly disrespectful

Just becouse i like Miyavi and Malice Mizer ext and i like to have a giggle over the members of bands like DBSK with what is my natural playful nature and good sence of humer does not make me an idiot

I don't feel that myself or any other members of the music forum deserve the kind of treatment that we have been recieving recently

OK i have said my peace

BTW i can't get in chatbox

^^ you put all that really well Dutch Baka i'm so glad your the one moderating the music forum

I am enjoying Japanese music myself, even though there are not a lot of people on this website who like the same as I do beside some of the Japanese members in here. But I am trying to do my best for the forum

Not that i'm not guilty too i know it could be said that i'm to old for fangirling but its fun and relaxing and it all just for a giggle

You can't yell at people for the odd giggle

Depends on how many times you see this giggle, there was one girl in the Miyavi thread that just said I love him, I like him in almost every sentence... this was just too much.

Also it is true that perticuly in the Miyavi thread that we do chat oftain for pages offtopic *sigh* i sopose we are in the wrong for doing that but when there is not much to talk about you wander and don't even realize you are doing it

The Miyavi thread can be cut down 50% because of this... I am serious with this.

This is one of the reasons I want the music section to have some more quality, so that other people from this forum can also take a look so now and then, and that they won't look down on the J-music posters... but a lot of them really need to post better, and less crazy fan girl if you ask me.

I have been working on this since I became a mod, and will be working on this until the music section is getting a better part of the forum, because the level is pretty low, while the most visitors are for this area.

To be honest none of the older members on this forum are intrested in Ancafe or Gazette so why all the complaints

Because this forum is for everyone. Even though I don't come in the Anime section, it doesn't mean that it is okay for people to not follow the forum rules.

It may not mean anything to the very young members of the music forum but to the older ones such as Kinsao and my self who like to participate in more serious descusions its highly disrespectful

There are a lot of members who are actually happy that not you guys post in the more serious threads as well.

I don't feel that myself or any other members of the music forum deserve the kind of treatment that we have been recieving recently

I understand what you mean, but it means that the more serious members of the J-music section should have a look on the new members as well, this can't be only done by the moderators. So if you or Kinsao see people who are posting against the rule you can tell that person about it, or report it.

I actually think this is the responsibility of everyone on this forum to help out to get a better community.

If the J-music forum can get some more quality, I am almost sure that people will have a different view on it.

See this is why i like you moderating the music forum becouse you put things sensibly and nicely while being honest and true ^^

Everything you said is right its true that some people make pointless posts it anoys me as well i mean a giggle is a giggle but there have been times when i have wanted to yell stooooooop

Posting off topic is a VERY big problem in the Miyavi thread agreed becouse the Miyavi thread is a little bit of a click with a large group of friends mostly present it turns to chatting then you look back and think my God wa we off topic but that is why i sugested leting posters delete there own posts

Sometimes when you are talking you go off topic and don't even realize it

But most people there have realised that now and so off topic doesn't happen so much

Hmm i guess i don't take this part of the forum as seriously as the others becouse music = fun to me and perhaps because of that i have been slap hazard and a you ask i will be more helpful with maintaining qulity in this section

^^

Also it is true that perticuly in the Miyavi thread that we do chat oftain for pages offtopic *sigh* i sopose we are in the wrong for doing that but when there is not much to talk about you wander and don't even realize you are doing it
The Miyavi thread can be cut down 50% because of this... I am serious with this.
Why do you think the Gazette thread has shrunk down to 272 pages from the original 314, and I still haven't finished with that one.
By and large I am leaving pictures up and any fairly sensible comments and thank yous from other members about them. One thing I do find annoying is the XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDs. It is XD and it is supposed to be another way of expressing LOL and similar expressions. I have a feeling that some members do this just to get the character count up.
Personally I do read the occasional thread in the music section and do enjoy the odd artist (and some of them are very odd:-) ) and in most cases you can have a fairly decent thread about artists. I do realise that most of the posters are teenage girls and I am somewhat out of touch with that generation, but I do feel that some sense is needed and the best place for some of the topics they wish to talk about are better in the Chatroom if more than one is on at anytime. As I have mentioned, go into chat, have a play and see what you can do in there. You can create your own little rooms, public or private.

EDIT: I just thought of something. I am an advocate of seeing the music members post outside of the music section. A younger mind is refreshing to see on some of the more serious threads. It is a pity so few do, probably in fear of being patronised by some older members, but I feel that they do have more to contribute than just XDs and *nosebleeds*.Sometimes we older farts need fresh ideas to gets us to think a bit further than our jaded, cynical views that we have.

@dutch Baka Thanks for invitation to this thread. I always appreciate a mutual discussion of any moot points. And I do believe that we'll be able to find compromises that will suit both sides in this open dialogue..
I have been working on this since I became a mod, and will be working on this until the music section is getting a better part of the forum, because the level is pretty low, while the most visitors are for this area.
Well.. I suppose that if the music section was really so ill-favored/naive/useless etc. there were not so many visitors as you said there are actually.
I sincerely support your intention to get rid of absolutely meaningless fan-girls' flood but I also would like to ask you to be a little bit less aggressive. You scared some Gazette's girls to death already. They are afraid to post now at all. *and if you are grinning now at that I'll throw a good russian snowball in you, I swear :devilish:* They don't understand will it be ok, for example, if they answer ツ"thank you for such amazing pictures, I loved them *golden kimono dance*ツ" or not.. will they be banned for such a post or not...
I liked you saying:
Of course you can go off topic so now and then for a few posts, but please go back on topic after 3-4 posts or add some information in your off topic posts that has something to do with the thread.
I understand that you didn't mean by ツ"off-topicツ" such things like ツ"Yey! XDDDDDDDツ", but I hope you allow us to express our emotions however.. I personally think that posts like ツ"I've just read the new Ruki's diary note. I like it. Thank you.ツ" is lifeless in comparison with the ツ"I've just read the new Ruki's diary note. I liked it so much!!! Thank you! <3 *gives cookies*ツ" Come on, we are young girls and we have a need to slop over sometimes.
So, returning to the abovementioned quote, I wish you could write such things while giving ツ"red-cardsツ" to hyper-active posters or at least include a point like that in the ツ"Music-forum rulesツ"..
If the J-music forum can get some more quality, I am almost sure that people will have a different view on it.
Following by my natural curiosity, I can't help asking, please, could you share with me the information what view people have on the J-music forum now? ☝ (and if it is really people opinion or just your own).. Ok *raises hands* let's see the question from the other side. When you promote/try to improve some product (in our case - music forum) you usually ask your target audience/core consumers about their needs and expectations, right? Why don't organize a poll amongst J-Rock admires to get to know exactly what would they like the music section to be? What things are ok for them and what irritate them badly?
A younger mind is refreshing to see on some of the more serious threads. It is a pity so few do, probably in fear of being patronised by some older members, but I feel that they do have more to contribute than just XDs and *nosebleeds*.Sometimes we older farts need fresh ideas to gets us to think a bit further than our jaded, cynical views that we have.
<-----😆 :giggle: at the last sentence. And to take it seriously, you are right. Sometimes I fear to join some discussions because of the people who will disdainfully send me back to Gazette forum to keep nosebleeding or who will point out my young age and say ツ"You can't know anything about itツ"..

Then just let them be old farts. Your view is as valid as theirs, and if they are rude and obnoxious they will be dealt with as would any member who is nasty. Posting outside the music section will help change some members views of the music members who see you as obsessed fan girls/boys.

I might have come over a bit agressive on the Gazette thread, but after spending about 4-5 weeks cleaning it up and telling people to please think and have it ignored, I start to have the feeling I am banging my head against a wall, hence I start to get a bit short with people. I will try and calm down. *ducks snowball* *throws fish*

i do actually agree with you guys getting rid of alot of the posts. i seriously hate going to school and coming home atfer only 4 hours to see 10 gazette pages posted and half of them i don't even care to read cause it's all nonsense and mostly chit chat. i've actually stopped posting alot on that forum cause theres nothing of interest to respond to and i only post now when i have new pics or news.

now, an occational off the topic post for a few posts are fine (like dutch baka said) but i do beg of those girls (and the occational guy) to please knock it off after those few. and i agree that people really DON'T need to post "im off to bed now!" or "man i should be working on homework" unless accompanied by somethign that seriously has to do with the topic at hand (and not the "off topic" topic).....alot of other forums out there have turned into chat rooms and i think people carry that over to this one. but unlike the others, this one does have a TON of other great features you can use for that kind of stuff. there's a "Chit Chat" section in here and maybe there should be a "Random Gazette chitty chat" thread made there and we should leave the Gaztte one for pics and news and such. that's why i joined this forum, so i can get new pics and up to date info that is hard to find. but it's become so gosh darn hard to even find that info burried and lost in all the "COOKIES NOSEBLEADS OMGZZ XXXDDDD"

and im slightly guilty of putting more than one D in my XD but i only go up to three, just to simply exagerate it a bit. but i do think it's rather senseless to put 3 lines worth in!

and PLEASE listen to these guys when they say "quality over quantity" i mean, its great seeing alot of pages made for a band you love, it may catch other people's eye and they think it's a great band people can't stop talking about. but when they go in and see nothing interesting about the band and a bunch of teenage girls just chatting about school and friends, what's the point? it's like seeing that your favorite band put out a new cd containing 40 tracks. that's more than twice the amount usually on a cd so it sounds like a wonderful deal, but say once you pop in the cd to listen to it...only 7 of those trakcs are songs and the rest is just random noise they decided to record or thier managers talking about what they ate for lunch that day. you'd hate it and say it sucked...same with the thread. people don't see anything about the band on it...so it sucks to them.

and when peopel do post things liek pics, yeah you can say you like em and thank the person. but as (i beleive it was once again dutch baka) said, don't just say "OOOMMMGGGZZZ!!!! I LOVE IT!" say WHY you love it. point out something signifigant about the pic. start a convo about the pic. OF COURSE people are gonna love the pic! (that's why you posted it in the first place right?) so try and make your statements more interesting and engaging!

and these guys aren't coming right out and scolding everyone off the bat. they have been warning people for over a month now and been really nice about if you ask me.

i could go on more about the subject but i think im done ranting for now.

Ahh finally! This is the one thing which makes me visit these forums only once in a blue moon. (Granted I have been a member for years, I'm almost never on here.)

I must say that I agree with a lot of things that XXzenonXX said, and also you mods.
As for the GazettE-forum-case; I must say it's a lot more relaxing to be a member and poster there now that it's running slower.

That has often been my problem, too.
And even though what you say is true, Mycernius, the people who are saying so don't mean the same thing.
So that's why more people end up posting in the more "loose" threads, I belive.

Yes, im extremely guilty.
I have to confess. Its wrong, posting so much posts when its 'about nothing'.
But you know, some people just love to post those things, and be excited about everything. And somewhere i agree, that we just have to keep our posts ontopic. But what does 'On-topic' really means?
Pics who've been posted, and news. That makes teenage-girls going crazy. Sometimes its just such a kick, people are going to say; 'Oooomg, -nosebleed- Hot hot hot! <33 xDDDD' But thats because such a reaction is coming up in your head.
Im guilty, doing that. Thought im working on it, being more 'mature'.
Its just hard being a hyper-active fangirl, with the age of 14, to get your emotions controlled. -I know what im saying..-

Some members are scared because of it, and that makes the thread 'dies'. Because nobody will have the guts to post anything, just to make sure they will not make any mistakes, and be banned. -I can understand that-
But oke, somewhere its better, seeing the pages are shrinking.

Gazettastic:

What you say is true (I was once a teen, I DO remember.)
But the problem comes when 80%+ of all threads are talks of obsession.

Surely, there must be something more we can all say about something or someone besides what one would like to "do to them." ne?

-_-

Blue ash; I can see you are anime obsessed. So where are you talking about at threads? Sure i get your point, and i have to agree with that, somewhere.

But that kind of stuff, is not the only thing we're talking about, honestly! >_<
There are serious post about news, and opinions there.
A topic, is to post opinions and news there, right? Or am i totally wrong?
And yeah, there are girls who are really obsessed. -I join that group, sorry-
They would just like to express their feelings, everytime they see their favorite memver/pic/video. But i do understand there is a limit.

Blue ash;
Nothing, really. It wasn't something to attack you with.
Sorry if it looked like that. -bows-

I feel really guilty now and I will try to change myself.
I know it's not good posting so much off-topic with only screaming around and I know I did it too (more than a few times). I feel really sorry about it. It makes this thread looking naive and childish. I can understand your fears about other people not taking it serious and being scared to join it. But you have also to understand our feelings. We are young and yes we are obsessed with them. And if a conversation goes on you get hyper and want to express your feelings to your new friends and don't think anymore about the rules or if you're going off-topic. That's no excuse I know and I don't think there's an excuse for a behaviour like this.
I have suggestion, maybe it's a bad one but it's an idea and I think everybody could live with that
You could open a "random" gazette thread where we fangirls could scream around and giggle and post all those fangirl stuff and in the "normal" gazette thread we'll post only news and talk serious about the band. You will be allowed to clear the "random" thread every week and delete for example the first 5 pages without looking at them. So nobody would be scared anymore in the normal thread to post anything, because we could live our fangirl life in the "random" thread. And the normal thread would get a more serious look. You wouldn't have to open the "random" gazette thread in the music section it could also be here in the chit chat, but just that we had a place to be hyper and being off-topic. I think that would be a good solution for everyone. But you don't have to do it.

Blacksoul;
Yes, that idea was suggest ones, and i think its a great idea.
You dont have to ofcourse, if its to much work or something. But it would help the more hyper and obsessed fangirls, express their feelings and being happy. Somewhere, its a good option.

Hey yous guys??????

What if we made a special room in chat just for J-Rock people? They have 2 now for Nihingo & Japan I think. We used to have 8 or 10 people in there all the time in the old days. Each person has a different color and you can talk in private boxes to someone if you want. You could go as far as to have a private room that needs a password to enter. Maybe something to think about.

Uncle Frank

:?

Uncle Frank:
That would be a very good idea. Do you mean we could then even have a special room for gazette? That would be awesome, because then I think we wouldnt go anymore off-topic and use the chat and I think there's need for a chat. We need it as fans and for the mods it would be easier too. I have a question: Are the things you talk in chat saved anywhere??
But it's definately a good idea. Thanks for it.

Hummmm? I guess that's a point against chat, no permanent log to read for posterity. As far as I know, once people sign off chat, gonzo. Oh well, just a thought.

Uncle Frank

:(

Hmm...then I would propose to make a random gazette thread here in the chit chat room where we can let our fangirl-side out and be childish and give the moderators the right to delete at the end of the week the last 3-5 pages without asking us or looking at them. That would be better than being afraid of posting. But if this doesn't work than the Chatroom idea would be great. I hope we can find a way to make everyone happy.

there's a "Chit Chat" section in here and maybe there should be a "Random Gazette chitty chat" thread made there and we should leave the Gaztte one for pics and news and such.

i guess you could say i agree with the whole "new gaze thread" thing. just put it in here. dutch baka has suggested it many times as well and that's what this sections of threads is for..."chit chat".

So I just opened this thread and I hope it will be a good solution for everyone. I gave the moderators in the introdution the right to delete our posts anytime with any reason (when there are too much posts) since it's a random thread without any serious information. I hope it's ok for you all and we can have a good time together.
I will post the link in the gazette thread.
here's the link:
https://jref.com/showthread.php?p=438017#post438017

Well, in that way every thread can have a chitchat thread... how many chit-chat threads would you have then. So this is not allowed. If you want to do some crazy fan-girl stuff, do it in the chat-box, or make your own website. Sorry for that.

I have asked the admin to make a special chat section for the J-music lovers, so that's all I can do for you. We want to keep this a serious forum, and that means quality posting, and not crazy fan-girls... there are enough other forums for that if you feel like doing that.

(I can't post my Hentai collection in here, either)

Ok, I understand that. Sorry for just opening the thread without asking. I thought that would have a been a good idea. Sorry!

But thank you for asking the admin for a special chatroom. That would be really awesome.
I can really understand that you want to keep this a serious forum and sorry again for being a crazy fangirl. I'll try to change my behaviour.
