Regarding [問う]

Hiho there,

This time I need some input on this verb 問う. His conjugation seems completely off to me [I just saw its てー形, being written as 問うて] and its meaning nearly "nebulous".

I guess it means s something around the lines of an "inquiry" and a "question", but when used in a wide range of situations it becomes a lot harder to catch what is being said.

for example, below are sentences bugging me, and my attempt at solving them:

１－それはひとごときが答えにたどり着ける問いではない [This isnt a question which the likes of humans can struggle to reach an answer] ???

２－試験に問われている意味が分かったし、漢字も間違わずに書いた [not only I understood questions being inquired in the test, I also wrote the kanji flawlessly]

３－OS(operational system) は問わない this case, its written in a label of a computer program, once clicked you're able to select an operational system of your choice. [I cant really fathom this one, so a help on this is appreciated]


Experienced input could please help me validate my translations, and offer some 例文 on the use of this verb?
