Quick question

I want to say "I was busy yesterday", for example.

Is this correct: 「わたしは」 きょうにいそがしかったです。

kinou (, or wa) isogashikatta desu. The particle 'ni' is unnecessary for relative times, and "kyou" is today, not yesterday.

Doh! I even had きのう written down on my paper example. Thanks for the advice, so ni (i'm really bad with ni) is for a specific time like 10pm.

Also, say I included Watashi, would it be correct to write "Watashi wa kinou wa......"

If you had to specify, I would say "watashi wa kinou, isogashikatta desu."

Are you trying to emphasize yourself or the time ? "Kinou wa" is natural to stress it was yesterday that you were busy.

There normally isn't such a good reason for Watashi wa unless you make one.

一般的に日本語では１つの文章の中に２回以上「は」が 出てくると文法的に
おかしな文章です。

同一文章内に二つの「は」がある場合、文法論上は一つ 目の「は」を「主題」、二つ目の「は」を「副題」と呼 び、一般的には副題の方に力点が置かれて対比の意味が 強まると考えられています。

私は昨日は忙しかったです。

の場合、他の日と比べて「昨日は」忙しかった、のよう に。会話でこの形を使うのは、例えば「今日は暇だった けど」というような含意がある場合でしょうね。
