Quick quesiton about laguange

Hi I am trying to figure out how to say censored in Japanese. An example would be some naked guy runs across the screen and they would censor the private part on live TV. I used many English to Japanese dictionary's and the best answer i found was Kenetsu 検閲, but i was told that the word is too formal and its not the correct word to use in that context. I have friend who is fluent in Japanese and they said it was １８禁? If anyone could help me it would give me an easier time for me to complete my project. THANK YOU in advance.

The most common word is 修正, as in 修正されている/修正済み. If the image is censored by a mosaic pattern, モザイクがかかっている/モザイクをかけられている is also used.

Thank you! I asked my friend's again and they said

"I suppose the joke where a naked persons privates are labeled with "censored" is really an American joke, perhaps which is why the translation isn't perfect. I don't think those phrases u found really capture the meaning, although it is not wrong. I asked my american friend who is fluent in Japanese, he says 禁禁禁 together might work..."

Would that work also?

Do you mean that the part is labeled with the letter "censored" instead of censored by the mosaiced or blurred image and you want to replace the word with the Japanese one? If so, yes, 禁(forbidden) works perfectly for that. Although I believe, as a native Japanese, that 検閲, 修正, モザイク, ぼかし, all can work as a joke, too.

You'd be able to get the right answer more easily, if you gave us the detailed explanation in the previous post.
