Ex.

I know kyoukasho means textbooks.
tojite close, but how does the te form come into place here?

does it mean like a capacity or function of doing ?

Thanks

It's a request or a command as in "please close your textbook."

So when I see て then I can expect like a " command" in the sentence ?
て can have other functions but if it ends with the て or てください it's a most likely command. Examples:

Please open the window
Pass the salt
= Won't you shut the door for me?

Other common uses of て are to string verbs together.

かえっておふるにはいりました = went home and took a bath.
てれびをみておどりました = watched TV and was surprised.
I'll] drink coffee and go.

And て + いる turns to the "-ing" form. e.g.

That's what I've been searching for all along. You sure are very helpful. Thank you.
